Do you have an idea how much these countries have suffered under the Russian rule, better called a slavery? Do you know how ruthlessly Russia ruled in Central & Eastern Europe before 1989? You don't as otherwise something like you've written would have never left your pen (and your mind). Because of people like you, the West is getting - at least optically - weaker in its power struggle with Russians (still thank you for your view - however I don't agree with it). Thankfully most people in the US don't think the way you do, they do want freedom & democracy to prevail over Russian authoritarianism.

sounds like blaming americans has become a favourite past time and a vehicle for scoring political points. I doubt Americans would have told Georgians to go in if they werent sure they were going to come out on top. If Georgian leadership made wrong decision, noone is to blame but themselves.

Russia has a right to defend her people anywhere in the world when attacked as do Americans. As an American I know how our country uses other countries to manipulate for our own advantage.Kosovo and Serbia is another example. America is not the worlds police and if we think we are we are lost.Our government can not even take care of our own people let alone the rest of the world.
