It's just a matter of time when the past will catch you and Del Ponte is working hard on it!

Adrain the process of cutting out organs and packing them in ice is a bit, lets say easier than placing the newly harvested organs in a living person on a operating table. The doctors per-say don't have to worry about the condition of their "donor" while removing their organs. As bmrusila said this was performed in a clinic and not a state-of-the-art hospital.

Anyways congrats to the doctors on the successful transplants and best wishes to the organ receivers in their recovery to better health. :)

Adrian,

The liver transpant has been done before, of course. It only hasn't been done in KCS until today. Liver and other organ transplants have been done regulary in VMA (MMA), but not in other hospitals. I agree, there could be more transplants and certainly university hospitals should be equiped in order to begin with these procedures.

As for organ harvesting in Albania you should know that the organs transplant procedures did not take place in Albania, but in European clinics (mostly Italy).Albania was crime scene of organ retracting and delievering organs further. The organ delivery is never done by the cars or donkeys (as u put it)but by helicopters or planes. The criminal network surely has helicopters and planes for these purposes.

Amazing! And we were made to believe that organ transplants were such an easy task that, even 10 years ago could be performed in a massive scale in the farmhouses and barns of impoverished, remote villages of Northern Albania, whose only connection to the outside world were dirt roads traveled only by donkey. Yet, here we have a city such as Belgrade - with what our Serbian friends have described has world class medical facilities - where such operations are only now being carried out successfully in experimental phase. Truly amazing!
