Seems like Storm? i havent been following it closely but did the Ossetians cleanse 100,000 Georgians and kill about 7,000 beforehand? because if thats the case, then its like storm.

and besides, serbs cant have it both ways...its either international law in terms of boundaries and control or not. u cant claim both depending on when its suited and then get upset when others do it.

Jan Andersen, DK,

Krajina had no bigger country defending them. They were on their own and were only BETRAYED by Serbia. Big difference! Russia defended South Ossetia unlike any Serb country will ever do for their people.

From the article:

"It all seems like [Operation] Storm to me. If this does not stop, I fear that the Kosovo Albanians will use the same scenario and persecute Serbs from the north of the province,” [Popović, head of the Democratic Party of Serbia’s (DSS) Economic Council] cautioned.

That is one way to look at it. Seems like there are a lot of parallels in these conflicts:

Small region (Kosovo) wants independence, Bigger country (Serbia) use force to try to quel the upraising, even bigger war machine (NATO) bombs big country.

Small region (Krajina) wants independence, Bigger country (Croatia/Bosnia/Herzegovina) use force to try to quel the upraising, bigger ally (Serbia) is occupied elsewhere and fails to respond.

Small region (South Ossetia) wants independence, Bigger country (Georgia) use force to try to quel the upraising, even bigger war machine (Russia) bombs big country.

Small region (Mitrovica etc.) wants independence, Bigger country (Kosovo) might use force to try to quel the upraising, even bigger war machine (Serbia) bombs big country.

That is the problem with using hammers - there is always the risk of someone with a bigger hammer interfering.

From the article:

""Kosovo is a special case with its own historical, legal, political and constitutional qualities, and cannot be compared to the conflict in South Ossetia,” Sejdiu underlined."

Ahh - come on. Stop the hypocrasis please. It is the exact same thing:

Small region (Kosovo) wants independence, Bigger country (Serbia) use force to try to quel the upraising, even bigger war machine (NATO) bombs big country.

I do not know if my comment will be placed on the forum, but i have to say what i have to say. This guy talking about the government abandoning KOSOVA has forgotten that his chief in opposition Kostunica abandoned you, serbia and everyone. He desperate wanted to be PM again, but he failed, even making coalitions before the results where shown of the elections. Nevertheless, i find every, and quote me saying, every member of the dss-ns party so pathetic, that i feel sorry for them since there is nothing left. You know, you have thhe radicals, they have been there always, and unfortunately for serbia, they will be there always, but they know how to act and what to say. As concerned for the dss they keep saying the same everyday, and nobody listens to them anymore. I bet nobody knows there names anymore in serbia, because (most of) serb people woke up, and are thinking towards the future. You are looking back, and behind you will stay.

Aha that unity on Kosovo that involved the collapse of the last government? Yes we had great unity then didn't we?

As for the new government policy on Kosovo, I'm yet to witness anything bad come from it. When it does happen then set the alarm bells ringing, but not before.

Perhaps Popovic should return to business and leave the politiking to those who are evidently more skilled at it than he is. Besides its not very dignified being nothing more than a trumped up spokesman for an agreed DSS position, when very likely you don't even agree with it.

That something that the likes of Vladeta Jankovic would not stomach. Still, the lemmings will do the bidding of their masters.
