Downsizing of UNMIK staff

The reconfiguration of the UNMIK is, with this step, about to be fully completed.

It started in mid June by giving Kosovo Internal Affairs Ministry practically all powers an Internal Affairs Ministry needs and now reduces its staff by massive 70% so that by mid October the remaining 30% UNMIK staff prepare bags to leave Kosovo for good.

The EULEX along with Kosovo ministries/institutions will be filling the gap. The former having a very limited role ONLY in Justice areas.

The reduction should be 99.999%. Leave only one person to answer the phone, so they comply with 1244 :-)

More bombs on Tbilisi and will arrive faster..Autumn is coming leaves will fall from the trees so mr.Saakashvili and Eulex will arrive..than there will be a small partition of kosovo the russian will obtain the control of the gas in Serbia and everybody will be happy...

EULEX are going to be the grunts on the ground. The orders will still come from the UN as any reconfiguration will have to be passed through the UNSC.
Don't be so happy to have EULEX stay. They will be given orders on what do do and implementing the Athisaari plan is not going to be part of it.

This downsizing means less income for the Albanians as the UN staff won't be paying the rent or eating out in the restaurants to the degree they've been doing.

The UN pays very high rents because they are paid well. Now many Albanian renters won't receive this income.

Additionally many of these homes rented were stolen from Serbs by the KLA.
