How can U say Kosovan or Kosovar? There is not a such nationality! There are albanians and others under ocupation...Sorry Louie to tell this, but the albanians destroyed the bridges, those places of history and the credibility. The war began in Kosovo only because the serbs wanted to keep what belongs to them.I've met a lot of albanians from both sides and i have a different opinion that one writting here.I Passed all the Europe from Poland to Ireland and all i can say about albanians is: teft, drugs, women traficking, coarse language.I'm sure that for Serbia is painfull to loose this land... but is much better to cut this. The serbs don't need this mess.Let those brave criminals Thaci,Haradinaj to rule with that hemoroid and the time will show what The Just EU and US created.

That highway will bring electricity from the US, employment from the UK and water from Afghanistan and every other need for Kosovo albanians all the way to Pristina!

To bad that they highway cant help them in going to Slovenia by car in less than 3 days with their mickey mouse passports...

Actually they cant travel anywere in the world exept for 43 nations...

Louie,

Set aside any alleged atrocities reported to have been done by the government of Serbia. Let's analyze the people in Kosovo, the citizens of this so called country. How much damage have the Serbs in Kosovo done to the Kosovo Albanians? I ask you to come up with a list of atrocities perpetrated by the Kosovo Serbs. I know you cannot come up with a list. What about the hundreds of Serbian monasteries and churches damaged and destroyed by the Kosovo Albanians in the past few years? I can come up with a list. How can you even discuss equality?

Peggy

pre 15 godina

Oh Louie, you will get exactly the same amount of respect as you have shown Serbian leadership. At least Serbian leadership is legitimate and recognized by every country in the world.
Can you say the same for Kosovo? Thaci is a PM of nothing. There is no country called Kosovo or Kosova. Since the country doesn't exicst legally he cannot be a PM of anything.

All you can do is stamp your feet and demand, but nothing is up to you. The UN in consultation with Serbia will make the decisions in your absence.

In this beautiful "forum" we should keep emotions to ourselves!
Mr.Thaci is the PM of Kosovo!
Show some respect!!!

I am not saying he is the best candidate for a PM,but at the moment he is PM of Kosovo and has my support!
He has improved a lot,he has support of K.Albanians,he is doing fine!!!

One thing I would like to say to our lovely Serbian Posters, please stop underestimating us,please start showing some respect!!!

This is the main problem,I left Kosovo very young,I never felt that Serbs treated us as equals!!!
This is the truth,I come from the town where 35%were non-Albanians,we talked with Serbs and they always thought about mayority of Albanians different, they never believed that one day we can run the show!

My Dear Serbs, time has come for you to concentrate on your future,to Europe where you belong.
You can always come to Kosovo and visit your important places, our important places, after all the future of our children is important, that's not live in hate, that's concentrate on our future!
It doesn't matter which language our children speak,we want them to have a decent live wherever they are!

I will be short: Serbia( I mean nationalists), is trying all they can and making the live difficult for Kosovars especially for the Kosovaserbs. At the same time as they are damaging the prosperity of Kosova they are damaging their interessis too, like their EU prosperity, economic prosperity etc. by quarreling with the most democratic an prosperios countris of the EU and the World. This kind of "cold war" versus Kosova it will cost them quite a lot.
Kosova should talk to Sebia only as two neibours, two independent states on the practicel mathers like for example Serbia talk to Croatia or Hungaria.

I could not disagree more with you in the subject of Kosovo. Kosovars are extremely hard working people. I had the pleasure of working with several of them and they are extremely dedicated to whatever they do. There are successful Kosovar businessman and businesswomen all over the planet. They are eager to invest in Kosovo but the political climate so far has not been ripe. Every living Kosovar knows that UNMIK is a dysfunctional organization run by bureaucrats which are not accountable. Imagine for a minute not having to report to anyone but doing things as you please with no oversight. A perfect example are electricity and courts in Kosovo. UNMIK has spent billions of dollars and to this date Kosovo still does not have reliable electricity and its judicial system is completely dysfunctional. UNMIK has become and obstacle to economic development and prosperity that is why the government of Kosovo must do all it can to get this corrupt organization out of Kosovo. There are some within UNMIK who wish to stay for decades in Kosovo however it is the duty of the government of Kosovo to create new jobs, develop an energy plan and reform the judicial system. I sincerely do not understand what the issue is with the elected government wanting to better the lives of its citizens. Kosovars have the potential and the ability to make Kosovo a successful story. Up to now they had no means of controlling their destiny. With the declaration of independence a new chapter has been opened and for the first time Kosovars will take charge of their destiny. Within a couple of years Kosovo will be a good example for the neighbors. Kosovars are fully aware of the dangers that they face however with the help of friends I think they can create a democratic, stable and prosperous Kosovo.

“It has been 10 years and the Kosovo Albanins had more than ample time to begin developing some of these essential resources”.

You must be ignorant of the fact that UN special representative held the power. He could appoint and fire anyone at his will. UNMIK essentially controlled everything. Albanians were mere spectators. You are not in charge of driving until you take charge of the wheel. Only then you can control where you want go.

Gjakovar,

The reason Kosovo Albanians are tired of UNMIK is because the UN has treated all sides fairly over the past 10 years. Heaven forbid that there is no international body like EULEX to give the Albanians everything they want and provide one-sided supervision! Also, if you want to be an indpendent state, then you have to create your own economy, provide your people with electricity and running water, and not rely on EULEX or anyone else to keep throwing you a bone for eternity. It has been 10 years and the Kosovo Albanins had more than ample time to begin developing some of these essential resources. Obviously, this whole indpendence fiasco will be a complete failure and it is confirmed by the views and opinions of Albanian posters on B92.

Well, well, well... it seems our litle KLA kingpin has finally gotten his feathers ruffled. "Will not cooperate..." hmmm, where have I heard it before? Oh yes, seems the KLA took the same attitude about status negotiations with Serbia several years back up till the UDI.
The only difference is that the international arena will no longer tolerate Kosovo and it's bobblehead leadership to get away with such rash and fictional delusions. Remember under "Supervised Independence" Kosovo is obliged to follow the mandate of their sponsors. Though the EU and US want the EULEX to take over from the UN, Kosovo must still take directives from EULEX. Having this attitude of "I'm a free country and can do whatever I want" will not sit well with the EU/USA.
Kosovo and it's leadership will have to answer to the EU/USA, follow their direction and orders... price of "Supervised Independence". The money from the donor's conference for Kosovo is conditional and playing Hardball will not garner a single penny from the West. Oh right, Kosovo doesn't need any Western help... they have their Skyscrapers, their streets paved with gold, their bountiful industry and their unparalled rights for minorities!

not long now before the Albanians start spitting their dummies out and show their true colours. Then Eulex will be left to pick up the mess in the south!! Are the albanians going to start fighting the UN and Eulex now that they are not getting their own way. Thaci is a hypocrite -on one hand he says the people have spoken but of course numbers don't count if it's against him! Legality however is not about numbers even if the majority of the UN support him, legality is about law. The Americans will soon get fed up when thaci becomes too demanding!!

I have not read what Thaqi said to the Albanian newspaper however I agree with him that time is up for UNMIK. In eight years or so that UNMIK has run the country it has spent billions and yet it has very little to show. Lets be realistic Kosovo to this day still does not have basic services such as running electricity and water. I could care less who runs Mitrovica for as long he provides jobs, healthcare, invests in the infrastruture social and economic development. In other words people in Kosova want someone who could deliver. UNMIK must pack and leave the country and make room for EULEX. Thaqi knows that the people of Kosova are tired of UNMIK and he should make it his priority that they leave the country as soon as possible. Hopefully the latter group (EULEX) is more bussiness oriented and the peoples lives are improved.

But come now, Mr. Thaci, you're smarter than this. Leave the senseless stonewalling to your colleague Mr. Sejdiu. Well, if Thachi the criminal does not want to negotiate with Belgrade then Belgrade will implement those 6 fields by itself and UNMIK, as long as the resolution 1244 is in force.

Thachi’s comparison with bosses is truly comical and highly out of the appropriate language that politicians were supposed to use. Thiachi’s embarrassment and humiliation while facing the reality when it comes to recognition process, is very obvious. Somebody should explain him that recognition process actually has everything to do with numbers and should be purely observed numerically.

Mr Zannier seems to be the right person in right moment in Kosovo.

However, I like these rejections of negotiations from Pristina, it will only strengthen Belgrade’s position. .

Olf

pre 15 godina

Never say never Mr.Thaci. Those 6 fields that are supposed to be discussed about fall under EULEX competencies, so it is not that you do not want to discuss them but there is EULEX to do that for you for the time being.

Kosova and Serbia should discuss the issue of missing and the issue of reconciliation, especially the issue of reconciliation since the 3rd party has not done it sufficiently so far.

Nehat

pre 15 godina

This is not true i read this Koha Ditore article yesterday and Thaci did not suggested that he would not sit down to talk about the six points that Ban has set out. He did say that he would not sit down again to talk about the final status, as he put it the final status was Independence that had been recognised by most of the free world.

with regards to who is the "boss" then i would have to say that was well reflected in the last SC meeting when Lamberto Zannier’s specifically said that he has no authority in Kosovo! and that the Kosovar Government only respect the constitution of The Republic of Kosovo.

1244 is on ice and melting away as expected.

The Swiss

pre 15 godina

But of course Ban and Zannier are just "anyone" and their comments are irrelevant..., go on Mr Thaci, that's the right way heading to the wall and soon Bush and Rice will finally be part of the past and the impact will be even harder!

Agim Ceku on Tuesday evaluated that the rate of Kosovo's recognition is slowing down, "which raises concerns".

Yep, don't be concern, this comment is also irrelevant!

At the end, don't be concern at all about countries and individuals that do not share the same opinion as you, sooner or later the "new reality on the ground" will catch you whether you like it or not!

Thaci, go create job opportunities for your people instead of talking nonsence. No more Albanian migrations towards north will be allowed as in the past: you will stay in Kosovo where you are, so better go and think how to find bread for your people.

pre 15 godina

This is not true i read this Koha Ditore article yesterday and Thaci did not suggested that he would not sit down to talk about the six points that Ban has set out. He did say that he would not sit down again to talk about the final status, as he put it the final status was Independence that had been recognised by most of the free world.

with regards to who is the "boss" then i would have to say that was well reflected in the last SC meeting when Lamberto Zannier’s specifically said that he has no authority in Kosovo! and that the Kosovar Government only respect the constitution of The Republic of Kosovo.

1244 is on ice and melting away as expected.

there is nothing left to be discussed. everything is closed, since kosovo obtained internationally recognised independence.

There is only one thing left to be discussed, and that is talking on ways on how train fish to swim :-)

All I read in here are some emotional nationalists who have lost their plot, no 'substance' whatsoeve. Prime Minister Thaci is right and UNMIK soon will realise that they are not wanted in Kosovo no more.

However, I like these rejections of negotiations from Pristina, it will only strengthen Belgrade’s position. .

pre 15 godina

Never say never Mr.Thaci. Those 6 fields that are supposed to be discussed about fall under EULEX competencies, so it is not that you do not want to discuss them but there is EULEX to do that for you for the time being.

Kosova and Serbia should discuss the issue of missing and the issue of reconciliation, especially the issue of reconciliation since the 3rd party has not done it sufficiently so far.

Hashim Thaci Your fooling yourself only with your claims. UNMIK is in charge of kosovo province and soon to be with Belgrade again.

"Snake","KLA Kingpin","Terrorist",what else guys?!

That's start building bridges, that's start building a hope that one day we will live together.
I will fight all my life for all Kosovan people,no matter of nationality or religion!
Gezuar and Ziveli!

It is very amusing to hear bmrusila and others talking about the reality. Here is a quote of the Alexander Ivank (UNMIK spokesperson) from todays conference: "There are no negotiations, anything, anything that we will
try to agree on, will only be with the consent of Prishtina, that’s the bottom line." That's the reality for you my friend, read the news conference at: http://www.unmikonline.org/DPI/Transcripts.nsf/0/F07D6EB84F7FD4C0C125749D004C20F8/$FILE/tr060808.pdf

It is obvious that the snake is suffering from delusions of grandeur. It is not hard to see that a Hague indictment is in this gentleman's future if he does not understand his low standing on the totem pole and insists on being uncooperative with the UN which has the real legal power in Kosovo from now until the end of the century.

Diana

not long now before the Albanians start spitting their dummies out and show their true colours.

No more talks? I never knew talks even began!

But come now, Mr. Thaci, you're smarter than this. Leave the senseless stonewalling to your colleague Mr. Sejdiu. Besdies, it matters little whether you agree or disagree to these points concerning the Serb sectors, as they will be implemented anyway with or without your blessing. It may be wise to play the compromise card as Tadic is doing so as to avoid becoming the Albanian DSS.

No one likes a stonewaller, especially one with little individual say amid a cacophany of international voices with great clout.

USA

pre 15 godina
