"EULEX recognition doesn't mean Kosovo recognition"

Recognition of EULEX does not imply the tacit acceptance of Kosovo independence, says a leading analyst.

Gentlemen,

If you believe that the Albanians will agree to any compromise on the Ahtisaari Plan then you have not been paying attention to recent developments. There is no going backwards for the K. Albanians since the most powerful western countries support them.

It appears that Serbs believe negotiations can still take place after the deal is done. Perhaps that is why the Serbs have had so many disagreements with their neighbors. Both sides seem to be playing by two different sets of rules, the Customarily accepted rules and the Serb rules. Could it be that everyone else is Wrong!

As Serb Allay wrote, EULEX was originally meant to implement the Ahtisaari Plan. So an agreement to accept EULEX would need to contain a detailed description which parts of the plan would be introduced and which not. Unfortunately the recent news from Pristina seems to be that the government there is does not want a compromise but confrontation. As long as the West is not distancing itself from this policy I fear that a compromise will be very difficult.

No, EULEX recognition does not mean Kosovo independence recognition.

It just means recognition of the institution that will help Kosovo function like an independent country as opposed to a province of Serbia.

EULEX recognition means Kosovo recognition! They are trying to do it step by step instead of saying "We recognize Kosovo." Be warned.

Mr.Ivan Vejvoda I think your mind is not updated. EULEX's primary objective is for the implementation of this UN rejected Ahtisaari plan for so called independent kosovo.

Therefore EULEX is illegal as it contradicts UN resolution 1244 and respect of serbia's territorial integrity.

UNMIK is the only legitimate body in kosovo and EULEX is not.

“it is important for Serbia to declare that it will not recognize Kosovo, while finding a way not to impede its sorely-needed economic and social progress," said Vejvoda”

-I expect our president or foreign minister to react after this statement. In other words, this man says do not oppose EULEX (what ever would that mean for us) we need a money from the EU. Let’s sell Kosovo out.
