"So, all Rexhepi has to do is create a new 'reality' and the UN will probably accept it."

Well Willie Garvin,

That would be then filthy policy. I had fair play in mind. But let’s wait and see what happens next. Though, the actions taken in order to present "new reality" on the ground might actually work for Serbs even better. It depends how good scenario is.

Hello Delije,

You wrote, "Kosovo is Serbia and will be controled by Serbia in time... The problem with us suborn Serbs is that we NEVER forget."

Do you consider Lika, Dalmacija, Kordun and elsewhere to Serb land? Where were you in August 1995? Most people in Serbia may remember the event, but did nothing to prevent it, and have done nothing to reverse it since. Most couldn't even care about it!

Hello bmrusila,

Your wrote, "Or do you think that he actually can anyhow influence UNMIK decisions?"

Have you forgotten the recent report by the UN Secretary General? UNMIK is unable to function as specified in UNSCR1244 due to the 'changed reality on the ground'. The UN is making no attempt to reverse these new 'realities'.

So, all Rexhepi has to do is create a new 'reality' and the UN will probably accept it.

Mr. Rexhepi, just stick to the south of the Ibar and leave North Kosovo to the Serbs and Serbia. The political tide is slowly turning and you don't like the sounds of those waves crashing down on your puppet state. Kosovo is Serbia and will be controled by Serbia in time. Enjoy this brief "fake independence" because it will come to an end sooner or later. The problem with us suborn Serbs is that we NEVER forget. No matter what political side we're on.

Hi Willie Garvin,

All I said that he has very limited authority even when it comes to his position as a mayor of K.Mitrovica, but certainly has no power to make decisions without UNMIK’s consent and certainly has no power to influence any agreement made between Blegrade and UNMIK.

Is it still confusing?

Now, of course he can make a noise and sure he has own listeners, but I was just speaking about his (non)power to influence the decision made by official UNMIK representatives. Or do you think that he actually can anyhow influence UNMIK decisions?

Hello bmrusila,

I don't understand exactly what you are saying. In the same paragraph, in the same sentence, you say that Rexepi has "no power" and "no say", and that he has "limited authority". Please make up your mind.

Nevertheless, Rexepi certainly does have plenty to say and there seem to be plenty of willing listeners and followers. He may speak nonsense, but it is the same sort of nonsense that allowed Kucan, Tudgman, Milosevic and Izetbegovic to convince millions of ordinary citizens to pick up arms and fight their neighbours and fellow countrymen.

Do not dismiss Rexepi so lightly. His words may not have a legal foundation, but they certainly have an impact on the ground.

First off all, when it comes to Zannierr’s proposal on police service in the province Rexpei has no say on decisions made by UNMIK officials or Any Albanian official for that matter and the only one with limited authority is Rexepi himself and the other so called officials. Rexpei can express his protest which is natural but that is all he can do. He has no power to influence any of the decisions or agreements made between Belgrade and UNMIK. It is probably very annoying fact for Albanians to accept that Belgrade has very much say when it comes to Serbian community in province of Kosmet, but that is reality that they have to face it and accept it.

As for the UNMIK report on the March incidents, seems that that was actually the only objective report ever written by UNMIK and now everyone is panicking, especially Albanians.

Bombs???? Serbs were throwing bombs???? And only one dead after throwing the bombs???? I would not agree on this.

This is just another nail in the coffin of the so called independence of Kosovo!! What we are seeing is the division of the Serbian province along ethnic lines. Parrellel structures are the reality in Kosovo. The only way to prevent it is the resumtion of final status talks between Pristina and Belgrade!

What is ironic is that the K Albanians would have more power and control of their lives if they agreed to the very substantial autonomy proposed by Belgrade at the final status talks last year. K albanians will never have that in their so called independent state!!

Boo Hooo!

Bajram Rexhepi seems to be a very bitter man because the UN refuses to recognise him as king of Kosovska Mitrovica.
