Sanader and Mesic are triple wrong:
- Croatia was not a passive victim. It had been very active arming itself before hostilities broke out and it followed a confrontational policy that made those hostilities nearly inevitable.
- the operation was a violation of a UN monitored armistice.
- Even if one would accept their story that it was a legitimate conquest that doesn't justify the ethnic cleansing.

I feel sorry for those whom deny history. The Croatian government is doing its best to maintain its violence against the Krajina Serbs was just. As such, a new generation of Croats will grow up hating Serbs. Of course, this can only lead to future violence and more wars. Why not accept that Oluja was a crime? Some Croatian intellectuals are accepting responsibility, however most go on as if only Serbs were violent. Then again, they get a lot of support from Western governments, including the US government and media. I noticed, for instance that there wasn't a single story in US media sources discussing the 13th anniversary of this war crime. However, there are plenty of stories about Serb war criminals. If we are ever to end the cycle of violence in the Balkans, all parties must accept responsibility for their doings.
