We were many internationals working in Bosnia that felt something was "smelling" when Karadzic suddenly disappeared from public from one day to another? Today however - who believes Karadzic and who believes Holbroke? two persons in the same case. The last as a representative for the US, a country which administration has been controlling life and death in the Balkans during the entire conflict. The dispute between the US and Wolfgang Petritsch was publically exposed in the worst and most US arrogant way on the 8 of March 2000 when Madeleine Albright, one of the main actors of bad performance in the Balkans, "forgot" to great Mr. Petritsch, The Highest International Representative in Bosnia, at the ceremony for the decalration of the Brcko District. A shameful behavior from one of the personalities that were included in the group around Mr. Holbroke. I must be in the interest of the entire world to have the truth about what was agreed and by whom concerning the suspected war criminals, Croats, Serbs and Muslims. The US definately possesses huge amount of documantation that will prove to the world that that administration ran their own sovereign business when it came to pull the success of a failed peace agreement in house.

Why would USA enter EU? It has his own EU called United States of America(50 of them +comenwelath of Puertorico).
Getting back to the article, if its true than USA achieved its aim to disolve Yugosllavia. In 1988 a CIA report was published and it was told that in two years time yug. will disolve. I guess they were right in their prediction.

No, no, no, it couldn't be true. Mr Holbrooke is such a nice trustworthy man. He and his pal William Walker just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, frequently. All they're trying to do is help people around the world, and this sort of nasty accusation arises...

"I fear he might end up dead very soon."

Here you go again with conspiracy theories. Dying at 65 for men born in the Balkans in his time is normal. No official cares what he says, they already branded him a liar.

I’m all for conspiracy theories, but they have to be a least a little plausible.

“U.S. soldiers stationed in Bosnia in 1996 and 1997 received written orders stating that they must not arrest the most wanted fugitive if they happened to find him.”

If these claims are true, they would NEVER have put it in writing. Besides, do you really think an entire army, let alone 3 armies could ALL keep that secret for over a decade?

These claims simply don’t make much sense at all.

Besides, even had the CIA made such an “agreement” they would have broken it right away and arrested him anyway.

However, I really just don’t see what possible point there could be behind such an agreement. How would it have served the CIA’s interest? What would have they gained from such a situation?

And this, ladies and gentlement, is a very good reason why Mladic, not Karadzic, was the most sought after man in the Balkans. Karadzic has too many skeletons in the closet that he's only too happy to bring out in his trial. I have every reason to believe the CIA was involved in aiding in his disappearance. We used this Cold War tactic all the time: cover up a lesser evil in order to safeguard against an even greater evil (read as threat to US national interest/security).

Holbrook is going to deny any of this, as any US official would, but there is really compelling evidence to think lots of backroom dealings took place after Dayton. Just like backroom deals took place with Saddam's Iraq against Iran and Bin Ladin against the Soviets in the 1980s.

If this is true, then the USA should be refused entry into the EU until such time as they are deemed to be in full cooperation with ICTY.

Well, well, a lot of dirty laundry is about to come to the surface. But I must ask now why did SFOR take all those brutal actions against Radovan’s family and why for God’s sake did they shoot priest Jermija Strahovalh and his son in Pale. Why all the harassment when the SFOR was informed. After all, maybe Mr Karadzic is telling the truth when claiming that they wanted him dead. Here is what Mr Karadzic says in his address to trial chamber on irregularities in regard to his arrest http://www.b92.net/info/dokumenti/index.php?nav_id=311150

I fear he might end up dead very soon.

Not surprising given all has occurred. Holbrooke calls it "ridiculus" but doesn't say it is untrue. Ex-Hague prosecutor Goldstone, in speaking about this, calls the deal "obsurd" but doesn't recant either.

The big issue is that the US, France and the rest of NATO used Karadzic and Bosnia as an excuse for their public so that they repress Serbia through acts of war, ultimately forcing a partition of the country. All the while working with him/in his bed.

They're dirty and so is the Hague.

Quite possible like Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaida the CIA and US government armed financed. As long as the weapons of Al-Qaida were pointing other way and killing other people and not Americans they were "freedom fighters".

Interesting, now if only there was a way to make Holbrooke and the US pay / take responsibility for their actions.

This kind of thing is typical of the power politics that goes on behind our backs.
