The current percentage of people out of work in Kosovo is misleading, given that people will not honestly say they are involved in organized crime. Be that as it may, at least 30% of the country is unemployed.
Given the countries stance and signing of the "green" accord, in keeping the country clean and use of clean power, the Kosovo government could employ at least 100,000 over the next year in cleaning up it's garbage, and 20,000 for life with garbage cleanup and maint. Come on, it's not that hard to put people to work and give them dignity.

The so called kosovo goverment in pristina will fail.

I agree with Zoran, with all those points he mentioned kosovo is heading to no where and not to mention their UDI will never win recognition in the UN.

I think that a poll in Northern Albania would say the same thing. This would be no surprise, since Kosovo and Northern Albania now have a lot in common - monoethnic and poverty stricken.

Cyber nationalism, serbs and albanians, made it to the economist. Congratulations!

I'd like to know more about the above story. All other media said that all communities were included in the survey.

Zoran,
after 100 years of Serb mismanagement (on purpose to force Albs to leave) do you expect everything to perfect in just a few years?

Serbia has the same problem: Unemployment. As for Trepca: the old machinery is in the North, the minerals are in the south, so even IF Serbs keep that part, all they have is old machinery that needs replacement anyway.

There is nothing "HAHAHAHAHA" here, Zoran. Someone has to pay the price either way. It's you or me or both of us. I fear the worst.

Individually, K-Albanians are not as bad, many being fed by their relatives in the West. The "State" obviously does not exist in the sense it does in most countries. There is no panic in EU or USA either. What was provided at the State level are just morsels. The backbone of the economy are the money transfers from the relatives.

The last sentence of this article tells the whole story. They surveyed everyone except the Serbs. They (and the us) lie to the world when they say they will respect the rights of the Serbs. As soon as bush leaves office and the situation in Iraq collapses the us foreign policy, "Kosova" is finished.

HAHAHAHAHA. What a pity that nothing is going to change in Kosovo. The US and EU won't put money into Kosovo without knowing they are going to get a return. They are already panicking about corruption before 1 cent has entered Kosovo - they must be worried that Europe's largest crime zone will take their money and run. The best bit is that until they can control the north, they can't control Trepca and the lignite - hence no energy, hehehehe. You're about as rich as Irish potato farmers during the potato famine.

Kosovo is going nowhere fast. Serbia controls all the vital resources, but the Albanians don't seem to have noticed.
