RS condemns calls to scrap entities

This will not be allowed for one main reason: The current borders were created by ethnic cleansing, something everyone knows it happened (Srbnje used to be called Foca for example). There has never been a "Republika Srpska" in history. To change the borders means war, and no one will allow that to happen.

The statements from the presidency of the eastern part of Bosnia could not be fartherfrom the truth.

Republika Srspka was not exactly “the creation of the Bosnian Serb people”, but from the the Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic and his three main assistants: Karadzic, Arkan and Mladic. Arkan and Milosevic are dead, and Karadzic is headed to prison in the Hague. Just Mladic is on the run, but we hope Serbia will catch him too.

About the “economic adavance of RS”, well, if the entity were so advanced it would fear Transparency International so much, doesn’t it?

Anyway, the eastern half of Bosnia is non-contiguous territory and has no army. And NATO and EU is all around. Sorry, no perspective for secession…

Anyway, Dayton Agreement is not a perpetual monolith. It is more a badly-written appeasement scheme. Bosnia needs a new constitution, endersed by all of its people, to stop this ridicule division and sub-division of everything based on ethno-religious affiliations.

And if the reform of Dayton is not possible for now, RS should stop its separatista agenda and behave like a true SUB-National entity, like Bavaraia is for Germany.

Hmmnn, why is the country called Bosnia AND Hercegovina? Historically, yes it was two regions.

What about Krajina? Serbs there enjoyed autonomy for centuries and have a rich history. Surely they have just as much right as to succeed as places like Kosovo.

Bosnian “independence” was made possible by the Genocide in WWII which claimed the lives of a HUGE percentage of the Serbian population. Genocide is worse than ethnic cleansing certainly.

In addition, RS has a 12% minority population, while the Federation has 2%. Which is more ethnically cleansed?

You also seem to be forgetting that Serbs made up a majority in many areas of Bosnia. Bosniaks are more urban and are concentrated in cities, while Serbs are rural and spread out, being a majority in areas larger than their population percentage would suggest.

So Bad Gorilla, clearly you are opposed to Kosovo independence and the breakup of Yugoslavia? Or is it OK for every other ethnic group in the former Yugoslavia to seek independence EXCEPT Serbs?

All of the arguments you presented are pure hypocrisy and you only support them when they go against Serbian interests. The same exact arguments were made by Serbs against the breakup of Yugoslavia, which you all supported.

The reality is Serbs picked up the gun to prevent to prevent the finalization of the Ustashe dream from WWII, but it happened anyway. If your grandparent’s generation had suffered through the Jasenovac death camps, you too would vow “Never Again”.

Out of curiosity, why do you completely ignore the contribution of Croatia to the carve up of Bosnia? They brutally attacked Bosnia in their own campaign of terror. For nearly half of the war, Croats attacked Bosniaks committing terrible crimes in places like Mostar.

The reality is RS has just as much right, if not more, than Kosovo to have independence.

The reality is you will use any excuse to deny Serbs the same rights you claim for your own people.
