Adam, you say that you don't want ot go to Russia or Romania so Kosovo passports will be enough.

I tell you, you won't be going to a LOT MORE countries thanks to your Kosovo passports.
It amazes me how Albanians keep on saying that they don't want to go to Russia and Romania or Greece but they neglect to say how they won't be able to travel to most of the world.

If not being able to travel to most of the world is good for you then I'm also happy for you.

re-war criminals: many tend to forget conveniently, that on certain side did a lot to silence the witnesses. Even an unbiased court can't do much if the main witness is dead.

If we look at the past of quetzalcoatl and his gang, the common knowledge is, they are criminals. This will haunt their regime. Don't portray that regime as one happy family. At the first occasion they will try to cut the throat of each other.

After all, the snake and the pigeon are marxists-leninists. Apropos, marxists-leninists. An old Hungarian joke:

Q: You know what were the last words of mehmet shehu

http://tinyurl.com/6732qu

before commiting suicide?

A: "Comrades, please, don't shoot!!!"

In Hungarian original:

K: Mik voltak mehmet sehu utolsó szavai?
V: Elvtársak, ne löjjetek!!!

As usual, I allowed myself to spell the names of criminals with all small letters, like "nemecsek".

Blero,

Unlike you I never said that Serbia is free of war criminals, nor I ever said that the crimes have never been committed.

However, I understand that denial is one of the defence mechanisms that help us cope better with the everyday struggles.

It is absolutely shameful to compare war crimes, since the crime is crime. But as I said, unlike you I acknowledge the crimes committed by my people but you deny that your fellow province-men committed any crime. This phenomenon of Albanian crime-denial seems to be widely spread throughout Serbian province.

Also, I do not put the thing under carpet and do not afraid to talk about the things at home. I will also propose to go swimming, or better driving (since I am very lousy driver) to my friends.
Since I am aware of this fact, I do not drive (don’t want to jeopardize anyone) but I am ready to talk about it and if possible, practice more in order to become better driver.

“if Albanians had the number of war criminals as the Serbs have, we would not accuse the others about that. We wouldn't have a leg to stand on those accusations.”

You seem to know nothing about your kind. But, I do admit it is better sometimes not to admit anything. That is where Serbia goes wrong, by admitting its wrong doing. Well, at least we have guts to do it and are ready to face it.

“So bmrusila take this advice, do not start talking about the war criminals. It is an argument that will always come and haunt you.”

-No, Blero, it will haunt you, from your own kind. The people with terror-past will sooner or later haunt you, your kind.

Just keep on cherish Haradinaj et al!

Bmrusila,

It is a well known fact that people (by nature) avoid talking about the things that “hit them home”.
For example, the people that can’t swim will never put forward the idea of going swimming to their friends (I know it is a silly analogy but you get the jist of it).
They would for example suggest mountain climbing instead.
A number of pro-Serbian camp members in this forum seem to be doing the opposite (you being one of the bigger offenders).
You see bmrusila, if Albanians had the number of war criminals as the Serbs have, we would not accuse the others about that. We wouldn't have a leg to stand on those accusations.
Now, with the number of Serbian war criminals I would say that it is naive from you to open that discussion.
If you talk about economy (for now) you have a leg to stand. Corruption on the other hand I would say it is in par.
But as far as the war criminals bmrusila: Trying to compare the war crimes committed by Kosovo Albanians and the ones by Serbs is like comparing the height of the Plateau of Kosovo with the height of Mount Everest.

So bmrusila take this advice, do not start talking about the war criminals. It is an argument that will always come and haunt you.

All that what you have said is called wishful thinking.

Lets see where will Kosovo end up with your political leaders of very suspicious profiles. I know it is hard to admit but south of Kosovo is run by the people involved in criminal deeds and many of them are actually portrayed as war criminals.

Now, I am not sure can Kosovo anyhow progress with these kinds of leaders. Remember, it is not enough only to smile and kiss the hands of Mr Bush, but there are some other skills required as well. If you really think that the USA will hardly work all together with the EU to raise Kosovo’s economy, you are deadly wrong, believe me. Just look at Afghanistan and Iraq. And if you think for the moment that the USA treats you any differently than them, then you are wrong again. Kosovo is picked for the implementation of the USA’s strategic plan.

Serbia’s speed of development is just fine, I invite you to check it for yourself. What we need to do and we must do it by all means, is to fight corruption. That can be done if there is political will, but that would mean some stricter law regulations to be made.

I prefer us to be a bit poorer but to be the most morale nation when it comes to corruption, to serve as an example.

I have no problems with Kosovo passports since I think that it is all farce anyway. Yesterday, somebody commented as to how he/she will keep Serbian and UNMIK passport as souvenir hoping to sell it out after few years and gain good profit after that. I say, it may actually happen the opposite, Kosovo passport may become some sort of souvenirs.

As for Kosovo isolation, I don’t know, I have no ability to predict the things whatsoever.

I know that Kosovo pasports will not be some sort of souvenir. Nor will the Kosovo flag or the constutution. Kosovos citizens will use the pasports when they need to travell to Montenegro or Albanian for vacation. Or people who wants to visit relatives in the West. Maybee we cannot go to Romania or Russia but who wants that anyway ?

About the Kosovo isolation, that is not going to happend. Serbia has made a choice to keep the economic connetion between Kosovo and Serbia alive. That means that Serbia will reconize Kosovo indirectly. Serbia is going to make bussniess with Kosovo as two different states. That is somthing that Serbia has agreed on.

About Serbias isolation it will happend if they don't get in the EU. Croatia will end up in EU and also Albania and Makedonia. Maybee even Montengro. Where do Serbia wants to stand ? Aside with Russia ? Maybee serbs wont die hungry but the devolpmend will not go fast. Croatia is more devolepmend than Serbia and Albania is catching up very fast.

You can call it what you want but I call it isolation. Even the former sovjet states are backing away from Russia and you serbs wants to turn to them. US and EU wouldent like that and there is where the isolation comes from.

You dont do bussniss with EU but does it with Russia or Brazil.Uhm that's smart. Very smart =)

You will only lose because Kosovo will stay independent. It's somthing that wont change.

"what will be left is a self-governing province with a high level of autonomy or some sort of special mutually agreed status."

No Serbian soldier will set foot in Kosova without a major fight, so full independence or nothing. Serbia with its childish actions has lost so much credibility it isn't even funny. Even Russia will abandon them soon. The Arab countries will start recognizing on August 5th along with Africa, Macedonia and Crna Gora. Stop dreaming and accept that Serbia is a small backward country in the Balkans, not a major players. Nothing more, nothing less. They are as many Albanians as Serbians in the Balkans too. 5% cannot rule 95%,especially given that Serbian attitudes still haven't changed.

"As this resolution states implicitly that Kosovo legally remains a province of Serbia, and the UN has reiterated that it is neutral on status, there can be no further moves without seeking some sort of settlement with Belgrade. "

Every review that UN has made to these reports has been in favor of Kosova's independence. Every day that goes by enforces the reality of Kosova's independence.

Aren't you tired of distorting the facts and hoping for the impossible?

Olf

Kate- As this resolution states implicitly that Kosovo legally remains a province of Serbia, and the UN has reiterated that it is neutral on status, there can be no further moves without seeking some sort of settlement with Belgrade.

As Belgrade will never support independence, what will be left is a self-governing province with a high level of autonomy or some sort of special mutually agreed status.

Kate you seem to forget that Russia is the one that has blocked the Kosova Independence process not Serbia. Lets say that Russia in a near future does not accept Independence but does not block it either just like China, where does that leave Serbia in this picture.
It looks as if this is going to be the scenario in the next year or so. By that time, Kosova institutions will have all the competencies transferred and institutions functioning in full.
By that time northern part of Kosova will be forgotten from Belgrade just as it is now, or even worst, since Belgrade knows that there is no chance of partition of Kosova as they know that Presheva-Medvegja – Bujanvc and Vojvodina will follow.

Blero,

You can put it invalid, unacceptable, biased, one sided, influenced or what ever you like. Forge in English language (at least in my knowledge) does not mean that some original is falsified but also may mean making up (like making up the stories while write the original, for example). Any way feel free to correct me any time if you think that something is wrong with language. I will thank you for that. I am not any English language expert, anyway.
Now, to continue with the issue and Thachi. No, I don’t think Thachi has anything to do with the report directly, but maybe indirectly. UNMIK’ reports are sole responsibility of UNMIK officials who, unfortunately do not have good reputation as many of them turned out to be corrupt. Now, who corrupt them?

Great step ahead in the road to statehood for Kosovo.

It is now being represented by a Foreign Minister. That's right, unbelievable but true. A miracle that many skeptics thought would never happen.

And of course, next time a report is shown at the UN, they will be discussing what a wonderful job EULEX is doing on the ground in establishing itself and helping Kosovo on it's road ahead.

Just great news...I love happy stories like these.

Last time in the UN the president of Kosovo Fatmir Sejdiu was allowed to even speak.Maybee on paper Un haven't reconize Kosovo but in reality they know they will someday. It's just a matter of time.

UNMIK has no role in Kosovo more. They have even stoped the production of new pasports. Kosovoars will only have a pasport and that will be from the republic of Kosovo. If Serbia dosent allow us to travell trough then Montenegro will. Montengro has reconized our pasport. Even Makedonia. That means this two countrys will reconize our state very soon.

I hear this ''ZK UK'' saying that we kosovars will be selfisolated with our new pasport when UNMIK leaves. I don't see it like that. Kosovo can travell trough
Montenegro, Makedonia,Bulgaria and Albania. Think about all the albanian bypassers that Serbia will lose. That's alote of money I must say. Kosovo will not be isolated bacause Kosovo has good neighbours who stand up for us. Even if that means going against Serbia.

The only one who has a good chance to isolate it self is Serbia. Soon if Serbia don't reconize Kosovo there will be no EU-entery. And those who sayes that EU and Kosovo is two different things for Serbia has it wrong. It is connected.

When Serbia arrest Mladic and reconize Kosovo they will have a chance to enter EU. In other ways they will isolate them self.

So, ''ZK UK who has the biggest chance to isolate them self ? Kosovo or Serbia ?

Ban Ki-moon should replace Zannier from his position after the decision to take Hiseni with him. UN did not recognise Kosovo and thus any Kosovo representative cannot and must not attend any UN sessions. That UNMIK report is anyway forged as many previous reports.

Kate

pre 15 godina

"The UN secretary-general has ordered UNMIK to cooperate with the EU and enable it to assume a stronger operative role in Kosovo in the area of the rule of law under “a UN umbrella”."

In other words, keep the EU in the picture, make it more visible but ensure that all activities adhere to Resolution 1244.

As this resolution states implicitly that Kosovo legally remains a province of Serbia, and the UN has reiterated that it is neutral on status, there can be no further moves without seeking some sort of settlement with Belgrade.

As Belgrade will never support independence, what will be left is a self-governing province with a high level of autonomy or some sort of special mutually agreed status.

The countries which have so far recognised independence have done so on an individual basis (many with arm twisting by the big players) which means nothing more than easier travel to, and trade with, those nations.

Without the recognition of the EU and UN as bodies, there is no real independence. Even if Kosovo is allowed to be represented in sports etc.

One thing that I don't understand is how any individual countries are allowed to recognise the UDI. They are members of the UN which has a clear mandate to recognise Serbian sovereignty. Recognition of the UDI actually undermines that and threatens security in the region.

Really they should be asked to remove their troops from the province because of the conflict of interest, but of course money talks.

Zanier did not take Kosova FM Hyseni with him. Rather FM Hyseni is taking Zanier with him since FM Hyseni was there way before Zanier arrived in NYC. How soon you forget that President Sejdiu was given equal time just like President Tadic the last time UNSC held a session reagrding Kosova.

Really they should be asked to remove their troops from the province because of the conflict of interest, but of course money talks.

any Kosovo representative cannot and must not attend any UN sessions.

(bmrusila, 25 July 2008 12:21)

Cannot and must not????? Hmmmm.
Those are harsh words bmrusila.

Now about the forged report,
Bmrusila, you could have said, invalid, unacceptable, biased, one sided, influenced, waste of time and money, choreographed and many other words to express your views. .
But, forged,.......... are you trying to say that somebody took the original UNMIK document, forged it and put it in front of the UN’s nose as the original?
It that is the case I guess it has to be Thaci (the Snake) that did that, right?

Every review that UN has made to these reports has been in favor of Kosova's independence. Every day that goes by enforces the reality of Kosova's independence.

Aren't you tired of distorting the facts and hoping for the impossible?

Ban Ki-moon should replace Zannier from his position after the decision to take Hiseni with him. UN did not recognise Kosovo and thus any Kosovo representative cannot and must not attend any UN sessions. That UNMIK report is anyway forged as many previous reports.

bmrusila

Do you honestly believe that Serbia will be isolated if does not enter the EU????

It is an argument that will always come and haunt you.

bmrusila

pre 15 godina

Just keep on cherish Haradinaj et al!

re-war criminals: many tend to forget conveniently, that on certain side did a lot to silence the witnesses.
