There was an error in my post - the figure was 64,000 total Bosniak deaths. (33,070 were civilian, 30,966 military). Also, the Srebrenica figure of 8100 (according to ICMP) would account for 12 percent of the overall Bosniak total, but abut a quarter of the civilian number.

Apologies for the error. To see the full PPT by the Reseach and Documentation Center, go to the previously posted link.

Dragan Dabic is the Karadzic look-alike patsy who is taking the fall. Do you actually expect us to believe that the first president of Republika Srpska had to support himself with a humble job and ride the bus to work? Can you explain to us what happened to the millions that Dodik claims Karadzic stole from Bosnia? The DS is learning how to lie like americans.

Kurt, thank you for providing my with a good laugh before I go to bed.

I shall assume you are probably from a pro-US country and your military was one of those that bombed Iraqies and Afganis with many futuristic weapons from very very far away and didn't give a rats hoot about who the poor sucker on the ground was or who his wife or kids or family were or wheather they count as "human casualties" becuase you can conveniently brush it away as "collateral damage".

So thanks for taking the high and might road against Serbs. It must feel nice to pass judgment and not have people look at your ways of warfare.

It has nothing to do with the vote on the Lisbon Treaty. Actually for very different reasons I applauded the Irish for voting no.

In case you didn't know, Tom voted No on the Lisbon Treaty, which by some strange coincidence won the vote - so by some simple logic he is in fact part of the majority - but not only in Ireland - the majority of Europeans support the No vote.

So I have no idea where you get the "very small minority" bit from. Wishful thinking I'd say.

Ida, do a little homework.

The Republic of BiH didn't HAVE an army at the beginning of the war, while the VRS was formed out of Bosnian Serb elements of the JNA, and given weapons taken from the BiH TO in 1991. That's why at the beginning of the siege of Sarajevo, it was lovelies like Caco who had undue influence - they were the ones with firearms. So sure, Serbs were at a manpower disadvantage, and as the war went on, that bit them more and more. But when you have such a lopsided advantage in heavy artillery and armor, and your opponents have only small arms (and even those in short supply at the beginning, when the most massive cleansing happened in eastern Bosnia), and you can lob shells in from a distance, it's fair to say one isn't on the defensive... where were these Bosniak and Croat paramilitaries in eastern Bosnia and Sarajevo of whom you speak as having been first?

As for overall casualties, have a look at the Bosnian Book of the Dead (http://www.norveska.ba/press/rdc-bbd.htm) Nearly 40,000 (just over 40%) of those killed were civilians. Bosniaks were the overall majority of those killed or missing at 65%, and comprised over 83% of the civilian casualties, as opposed to about 10% for the Serbs and 5% for the Croats. Among Bosniak casualties, well over half of the over 65,000 were civilian (about a 1:1 ratio), while among Serbs it was military 5:1, and among Croats just over 2:1. Srebrenica alone would account for more than 12 percent of the Bosniak civilian deaths.

If you've got better numbers, put them on the table.

Not true. The Bosnian Muslims had the largest army fighting within Bosnia. Their army was 200,000 men. Izetbegovic also agreed to allow Croatia to send forces into Bosnia which were stationed their throughout the entire war.

Serbs had manpower shortages within Bosnia.

In Croatia you had around 87% Croats against 12% Serbs.

Virtually all the army and airforce of Serbia was kept there and did not do any fighting.

There was smuggling of East German, Argentine and Iranian arms to Croatia and Bosnia throughout the war.

The number of Serb civilians killed in Croatia is greater than the number of Croat civilians.

The Croats lost mostly military.

The Croats and Muslims had their own war and were using heavy weapons against the other.

Obviously the Croats and Muslims had plenty of weapons if they could fight so strongly against each other.

The first victims of the wars were always Serb civilians and the response was the Serbs putting up barricades to stop the Muslim and Croat paramilitary and police from barging into their homes and killing them.

Croats and Muslims wanted the separation and breakup. Serbs were in the way for them.

The Muslims and Croats were the biggest liars at exaggerating the deaths on their side and counted their fallen soldiers from battle as civilians or POWs.

To hear them, they never lost any soldiers in all the fighting and skirmishes at all.

The Muslims and Croats were the biggest liars at exaggerating the deaths on their side and counted their fallen soldiers from battle as civilians or POWs.

To hear them, they never lost any soldiers in all the fighting and skirmishes at all.

Tom,
You don't believe a word because as a radical you don't want to accept the reality. You are part of a very small minority.

ZK,

By minority I meant not believing in news concerning Karadzic and Serbian atrocities in the nineties.
It has nothing to do with the vote on the Lisbon Treaty. Actually for very different reasons I applauded the Irish for voting no.

Iam not frequent poster on this site however i do take the time to read a lot of comments to find out the general attitude of people and i have to say my personal opinion is that i find that many posters are one sided.
Olf #5 and Lenard #6.
Come on guys surely your glasses are not that fogged up that you cannot see beyond your noses, lets be realistic you have no doubt heard of the expression '' the pen is mighter than the sword''
In todays technology the electronic news media is certainly controlled there fore we must accept that the properganda machine is well and truly being utilised to its maximum.
The machine is well and truly oiled, one only has to revist the Inventors of news media properganda the Nazi era where the world was taken in and fooled.
In todays climate nothing has changed, those of us with an open mind (means everybody and all nationalities) will and should certainly question what is fed to us.
To those posters on this site who its seems have a one sided attitude in directing all the blame to one specific group accept the fact and truth that all parties are equally Guilty apportion the blame on Mankind for this mayhem.
From a humantarian point of view it is difficult for many to forgive and forget, time will eventualy heal the wounds, what is important is that we stop the cancer spreading and its up to you and me to do our bit.
To those indviduals who have committed crimes against humanity knowing that their hands are covered in blood they have to live with the knowledge and guilt that they will have to bear this till they die.The puppet masters need to be held accountable for their actions and not just shoot the messanger.
Lets hope and pray that lessons are learnt !!!
I somehow doubt that it will ever happen because we as humans are the most self destructing species on this planet.
I would encourage more posters to unify in peace and solidarity so that all those who seek to undermine mankind and bring destruction become outcasts. Its not too late

Svabo,

I guess you had nothing substantive to say about Kurt's points, so you speculate and ascribe positions to him that he didn't take and then criticize those. Pretty sad.
