Serbia's Jeremic just declared his government's total failure in their fight to remain in denial of Kosova's independence .It wouldn't be long before Serbia seeks to get permission for a embassy spot in Pristina. Hurry up before all the best spots are taken, they're going like hotcakes

Oh Jery
you really thought go on like that. serbia is the one that can't do without europe. Europe can do just fine without serbia.

Balkan Boy

Jeremic is only sending Ambassadors back to EU countries. This is to ensure a good relationship with EU before Serbia can get candidate status. This is all calculated. They will recognise EULEX for something in exchange, like EU candidate status and lots of EU money. Serbs may be smarter after all. They will get EU member status without recognising Kosovo.

Wrong move Jeremic!! Serbia should not send back these ambassadors back to these 43 states who made a unwise / unlawful decision. DONT SELL OUT KOSOVO TO THE WEST. REMEMBER YOUR FOREFATHERS WHO DIED FIGHTING FOR THAT LAND.

I was surprised with Jeremic's decision to withdraw ambassadors in the first place.

It's kind of like pulling the IV tube off a patient whose on the bed with a history of heart attacks. Re-attaching it won't do ya' much...

+1 for Kosovo.

Jeremic- I don't get your logic. Why would Serbia send it's ambassadors back to the countries that have recognized Kosovo? Has your "mission" (action plan) been accomplished? Do we no longer care if countries recognise Kosovo or not? I'm sorry- EU integration without Kosovo as an integral part of Serbia is not worth it, and it's a violation of the trust that the Serbian people have placed in you.(And, because of Ireland's rejection of the Lisbon treaty, you KNOW that we aren't getting in for at least 10 years anyway!) Isn't what we've been trying to tell other countries that we're SERIOUS about NOT losing Kosovo??? Now we're going to tell them that we're not so serious about Kosovo and that "everything is OK"- and we'll re-instate normal diplomatic relations with all countries who have recognised the ILLEGAL unilateral declaration. What's the point, Jeremic??? Do we stand up for Serbia, or do we do what the EU and the US want us to do? Do we Serbs have a spine, or can Jeremic and other Serb politicians be bought? What you "sell" today, will deprive future generations of Serbs their glorious heritage. Sram te bilo Jeremic!

Finally, serbs are trying to make a move towards reality.
The serbs removed their ambassadors from those countries when they accepted the Independence of Kosova. Now the serbs want to send the ambassadors back to those countries, therefore the serbs are accepting the new reality and therefore slowly but surely they are accepting the decisions made by those countries who accepted Kosova's Independence.

Let me answer your question. Serbia is using Kosovo and Kosovo Serbs for the betterment of Belgrade. If that means getting in the EU they will do whatever it takes. I am disgusted and ashamed of this government. They do not stand what the people want.

you should know a little bit better, what face saving means, since all your socalled albanian heroe´s have silently shut their mouths after they have been told that the real masters will be the western capitals now occupying southern Serbia.

seems like albanian proudness is as equally illusional as their illyrian ancestry!

but don´t worry, Serbia will re-integrate you and kick foreign occupiers out - with international law confirming serbian sovereignty that´s just a question of time!

now enjoy your dreams, as long as it you can! :)

This so-called government is toothless and as far as I'm concerned has no interest in the preservation of Kosovo. It seems to be following the plans as laid out already.

For instance, waiting until September to pursue a court case to give the US sufficient time to organise the next wave of recognitions is one example.

I really can't see the people standing for this, especially those in Kosovo. The sooner this phoney government is exposed the better I think.

Anyway, if anyone would like to get in touch in Belgrade or just in general, please contact me on zorank@email.com

Jeremic is not strong enough to carry anything through. It's too bad. With this proposal he is returning envoys back to NATO countries, the countries that trained guerillas and assisted in making another mono-thnic Albanian State. Wrong answer. Tadic and Jeremic are too weak to lead on important policy decisions. More and more, they are looking like NATO whores.

BURIM REGJAJ

pre 15 godina

Can I just ask... What are people's thoughts about what the Serbian government's long-term strategy is for Kosova?

Jeremic has been very successful in his round-the-world trip of convincing countries not to recognise Kosova's independence, but it still cannot conceal the fact that most of the countries that matter (the US and most EU countries, including the most powerful) have all shown strong support for an independent Kosova. Surely the Pristina government will never give in to Serbia with that kind of support, and surely the West is unlikely to renege on their backing. Isn't it far more likely that the trend will be for ever more countries to recognise Kosova, even if this only happens over time? Isn't Kosova's independence an accomplished fact that Serbia (even with her ally Russia) is far too weak to do revoke?

What are Jeremic, Tadic and the rest playing at? What fruits are they hoping to reap from their policies? Isn't Kosova irrevocably lost? Isn't theirs just a hopeless cause?

I don't mean my questions to sound wry and provocative in any way. I'm genuinely interested in what Serbia is trying to get out of their strategy. Is it partition? A special relationship with Kosova that establishes Serbia as the main influential? Or are the parties in Belgrade doing so much simply because they don't want to lose face in the eyes of the Serbian public?

Please it would be interesting to hear some speculations.

Marco

pre 15 godina

Jeremic could be right about abolishing Ahtisaari Plan. It does give too many rights to the Serbs in Kosovo.
Who said that there can be no agreement between Pristina and Belgrade. Here: they both don't like the Plan.
Let's take the other possible alternative: unconditional independence, without the EU mission. KFOR is enough.

It was mistake to withdraw our ambassadors at first place, what we should have done, though was to send ambassadors of the countries that recognised Serbian province as an “independent” state, back to their countries. However, this move should be welcomed since our Diaspora needs to have close contacts with Serbia.

BH NYC

I don’t know why you Albanians dream so much of Serbia recognising anything coming from so called independent Kosovo (still legally Serbian Province).Oh, I get it, must be because even you Albanians have doubts that “independence” is done deal and that everything is worthless without Belgrade’s signature. Sure, legally you are still Serbian Province and it will stay like that until abolished by the UNSC. That will probably happen never without Belgrade’s permission.

Its only a matter of time. Serbia will cave in. They will betray Kosovo Serbs just like they betrayed Seribans in RSK. Kosovo Serbs should not pay attention to Belegrade. Belegrade is the biggest trader for the people living outside Serbia proper. The reality is they do not consider Kosovo as a part of Serbian proper.
