Marinel,
I see you are so excited by The Hague Prosecution appeal in Haradinaj case. That does not have to do anything with the pressure of the media and “blah, blah, blah.” You went too long to explain about nothing. Another trial of Haradinaj will never begin. He is free and not guilty and there is no grounds for a new trial. So The Hague is deciding nothing, its just a normal procedure of appealing that normally occurs when the prosecution work brings no results as it happened in Haradinaj case. As fare as Thaci is concerned, he has no time to deal with false MUP accusations against KLA members. Actually he is a busy prime minister. On Thursday he flew to Washington, on Friday he met Condoleezza Rice, on Monday he is to meet George W. Bush and so on.

To all:

Take a good look at the accompanying photo to this article of Haradinaj smiling. Does this look like the guy is at all worried. He has no reason to be!

not only to "Bas", but also to him:

buddy, when will you finally realize, that KiM is not your "backyard"???

it´s a province of Serbia, and therefore it belongs to all citizens of Serbia. fullstop.
writing that nonsense, about KiM being yours won´t change anything ...it only sounds laughable for every informed reader.

Marinel,

It is only prosecution team who have made the appeal. the matter of the fact is that these guys have been in the court already for years and no charges were brought so not sure what you are talking.

I hope the prosecution spends more time by looking and bringing to justice the hidden dragons (Mladic, Karadzic + many others).

Remember, we didn’t come to fight in your back year, we fought in our own back yard, so its easy to spot the guilty one.

I suspect Balaj will get some form of punishment, but Haradinaj will get off free.

The prosecution just did not do a good enough job...

Dear All:
This is a first, would you not agree? The hague is finally deciding to uphold the Law and pursue those responsible for greivous crimes committed during the "war of liberation" of Kosovo. I can only assume that this action has been initiated as a result of the hyped up Media and international outrage over the events of this trial and their outcome... not to mention certain K-Albanian leaders (Thaci & Co) direct challenge to their authority and supremecy in Kosovo by the wrongfully aquitted.
I can hear the spouting of K-albanians already denouncing this decision by the Hague as proof of some vast conspiracy against their culture and people...blah,blah,blah.
The fact of the matter is that Thaci will GLADLY make sure that the intimidated witnesses from the initial trial will this time show up for trial and provide a VERY convincing tale or two. It serves Thaci well to do this to demonstrate that his Kosovo is willing to be held accountable to international norms... (sorry, I have to take a moment to laugh at my own jest)... and to provide proof to his handlers in EU and US that the money they will be pouring into his pocket (oops, I mean Kosovo), will be well spent.
Moreover, Thaci will have eliminated a threat to his reign in power with one fell swoop. Neat huh!!!
I can only imagine the responses of K-albanian readers to this... let me cut to the chase. KLA committed crimes during 1999-and on. That is a fact and to be expected with a guerilla war and subsequent change of power. However, to try to deny that wrong was commited by the KLA and their leadership or to legitimize it, is cruel, barbaric, and not deserving of further comment.
Everyone keeps saying that Serbia needs to own up to its past... true. However, the KLA, and Kosovo must own up to its past, its mistakes, and stop trying to deny the roles they played in the war.
Before you start spouting the injustices commited against Albanians a hundred years ago, please stop, take a deep breath, and come back to reality. NOONE cares what happened to your great-great-great-great-great grandfather's mule and chicken farm in what is now Kosovo or Serbia. The world has too much on their plate to care about us (whether it's Serbs or Albanians) for too much longer. Remember what happened in Rawanda? How long did that remain the hot topic in global politics or circuits? 6 months, maybe? How many hundreds of thousands cleansed off the earth during that time? Was anything done? Does anyone care about it now?
