Actually SP, I would like to see everyone prosperous and peaceful in the western balkans. So good luck to you.
However, don't go blaming Serbs for your difficulties. Your illegal independence will not solve the economic and corruption issues in Kosovo. Plenty of people invested in Montenegro before they became independent so it has nothing to do with that. Besides Albania has been independent for quite some time and look at the difficulties they have.
Also, please remember nobody became successful because of welfare, so don't count on someone else making you prosperous.

This is one of the biggest reasons the west is backing Kosovo in their independence. It is a reality that the economic situation would never flourish with the threat of returning to Serbian control. Nicholas your are wrong for nine years no matter what was done kosovo was considered a Serbian province under UN control. No investor is going to risk money under that situation. With the vote of support recently from the donors conference and that the West is going to work with Kosovo to insure their prosperity. I know that it is a bitter pill for some that post here to swallow that there might be a chance for prosperity for the Albanian people (and I say that because it is just the Albanians that get targeted here). But it is a reality.
So you can sit in your circles and with conversations similar to other hate groups throughout the world but it is not going to change the commitment the US and west have for the newest nation.
good luck to Kosovo and may GOD bless.

BKK,
In your post #2 you said "And no investers will come to a region whos status is undetermaned, where the crime rate is higher than education levels and where the corruption is amongst the highest in the world." Is this Serbia you are refering to. The reason I ask is because I visited Serbia recently and found the situation there just as you described.
BTW, The situation in Kosova is not nearly as bad as the article implies. The reason being is that one out of five adult Kosovars live outside their country, Kosova. Therefore, these Kosovars send enough money to support their families in Kosova. We Albanians have a very strong concern for our families and feel it is our duty to provide for them.

If they spend organ and prostitution and drug trafficking money on infrastructure, they would not be looking for handouts like they always did.

This is pretty sad. Considering the fact the Serbs have not been there for over 9 years, there is nobody else to blame but the Albanians themselves.

Being proud of your fake independence (RES. 1244) doesn't pay the bills Ben. Well, I don't think the UN add in the drug trade, human trafficing and all the money they made from the organs they, the Albanians, harvested from the Serbs and Who ever less. But look on the bright side, you have a great deal of historians that can shed the true history of the world to us. LOL!!!

"poorest but proudest"?

If private investment is the be-all hope, people better start looking elsewhere. Companies and corporations are not going to place their money anywhere they think is unsafe or unstable unless said companies effectively take over the entire business enterprise and run their real estate like private land (further undermining the sovereignty of said region).
Tackle the corruption, tackle the crime, tackle the prejudices, tackle the work ethics, and we might have something to work with. Otherwise Ben, being poor but proud, along with 30 Dinar will get you a copy of today's Politika,

During the 90's it was disaster: Albanian workers were kicked from their working places.

At the end of the day, American investors don't care about Albanians. Noone will throw their money into the botomless pit.
