Me as Albanian feel ashamed when I hear this kind of stories.

Eevryhìone without any delay or excuse has teh right to reposses their property and live in peace.

There is no excuse for such shameful acts.

Beating someone because someone said he did something is not right nor has the rule of law been applied you cannot just take the law into your hands. I think it was some Serbs dressed up as Albaninas and beat him. Same old song and dance. Next story please.

So this is what Albanians call DEMOCRACY in Kosovo! What a shame. Vendeta, well then I can't wait till we see the Albanians that Killed and probably took the organs of my wifes family members. Vendeta is what you call it, right.

I am so fed up with the UN, EU and K-Albanians spewing utter rubbish all the time.
Their statements of how Serbs can return and live in a multiethnic Kosovo blah blah blah.

Kosovo will never be multiethnic as long as the Albanians are in charge. No Serb is going to return there only to be beaten up and perhaps killed.

Ethnic minorities live in peace in Serbia which only proves that only Serbia can ensure everyone's safety. The KLA criminals cannot and it's about time Serbia said enough is enough. We are taking our territory back.

Until Serbia is in charge again we will read many more reports like this.

Why do you put christians as a concept. We have 10% of Albanians who are christians who live in Kosovo and we never beat them for their beliefs. I do agree that the beating should be condemned and the criminals should be punished for that but dont take it to another level which has nothing to do with the case itself.

I agree with Miri that the act is despicable.

As far as the comments about the "systematic beatings..." etc., I suggest the readers read the article again.

The wife of the man believed her husband was attacked because his brother was a police officer before 1999.

The attacker may have simply been a man with a grudge against that policeman. After all, the Serb security apparatus was hardly gentle with the Albanians in the 90-s.

Still, I hope the attacker gets caught and jailed. At least they got the taxi driver.

"Svetlana Orović said that she assumed that her husband had been attacked because his brother had worked for the police prior to the war in 1999"
What the proserb camp fail to understand in this headline that in this case the nationality of the person doesn't mater,it's called "vendeta" ,I'm sure you know what i'm talking about? it would be the same if he was an albanian too, that's why he asked “His name really is Žarko.” i think that speaks for itself.

I am from Istog. The city is small, so someone knew this person very well. He might have done something on the past do someone. People in Istog are very peaceful in general. People know each other. What they did to him is wrong, but this things happens all the time between people and this should not be viewed as political incident.

Albanians will never change the attitude, beating Christians (especially Serbs) on the nearly daily basis, is just a normal daily behaviour, of course all such deeds are done for the sake and in the name of “Great Illyrianism”, the greatest culture that enormously contributed to the Western civilization.

and there you have it folks....

A Serb returning to his homestead gets beaten up and mugged for being Serb. Meanwhile in Belgrade, over 100,000 Albanians live in peace and harmony among their Serb neighbours.

This indeed Miri should be pointed out on all occasions, politicized or not..

USA

pre 15 godina

Yes, but politicizing every one of these attacks will help many around the world realize that these brutal incidents are proof that a multi-ethnic "independent" Kosovo will never be beneficial to all of its citizens. Anyone who thinks otherwise is naive.

first time I agree with "miri".

it seems indeed to be a every-day normality among the Albanians, to attack normal civilians and beat them up just because they are not Albanians...

that says it all, in so many ways.

However politicizing every day crimes doesn't help anyone, neither K-Albanians, neither K-Serbs.
(miri, 17 July 2008 17:10)

Yeah you are right we should just not talk about it and let these Albanians get away with murder....the point of the story is that the KPS in incompetent to deal with anything Pristina is like the old West with a bunch of Cow boys who hate serbs. I feel sorry for the couple.

miri

Needless to say the act of the attack, as is described here, is despicable. The perpetrators should be punished as orderly criminals. I feel sorry for that poor couple and I wished for someone to urge them to try to return to Kosova again.
