A generation? Please take a look at Bosnia and see how productive a generation will make a cobbled-together statelet. If dual political entities, organized corruption, and multiethnicity thumbtacked together for European brochures only is your intention, then I say you're right on track.

hehe Mike, these western europeans are all so stupid telling us to be like them. They are asking us to make a leap of faith and start believing that we can all live together, but we are too lazy and vain to be told what to do, so they have to send armies to keep us apart. Kouchner thinks we're French and German and that it will take a generation to change things, but we're not French and German, right?

Considering the source tanjug, I really don't take anything what b92 says. read le figaro, and see what kouchner told jeremic. "no eu for serbia until recognizes Kosovo".

True, Kosovo is independent and sovereign, Kouchner was quoted saying.

I think media in Serbia should take a big blame for keeping its public in dark.

Serbia will never recognize Albanian state on its territory. Kouchner is a decadent politician, not a politican at all actually, and of course even EU will in the long run silently accept that Serbia will never recognize Kosovo. I want to put it right: Kosovo can exist only on that level in which Serbia is not irritated in reference with its existance.

Mr. Koucher. A lot can happen in one generation. You and your government certainly won't be there.
Nobody knows what stand future governments will take.

Maybe even American new administrtion will decide to right the wrongs done by Clinton and Bush.
Just look at how much has changed in the last 20 year.

The next 20 years could bring even more change.

One thing that is constant is that the Serbs never give up.

Well, folks I think you are misunderstanding Kouchner, fair enough said, it will take sometime for things to settle down, namely there has to start some negotiation between Serbia and Kosova in terms of establishing mutual neighborhood relationship, ease of travel, and trade just to mention few. But Serbia is not a factor when speaking about the political status of the country, Serbia has lost the war and the war now is over.

Mr. Kouchner! so your saying that kosovo is not a done deal yet and an admission that the WEST have made a big mistake in supporting the kosovo UDI coz it didnt really solved the problem but it brought more tensions in the region. TAKENOTE ANGERING THE SERBS WILL NOT BRING PEACE IN THE BALKANS. why not encouraged both Belgrade and the separatists in Pristina to talk again and find a solution acceptable by both parties.

"Serbs didn't forget about Kosovo while it was ruled by Turks for 20 generations. Kouchner can only dream that Serbs will suddenly "forget" about Kosovo in only one generation."

If you read history you will see that under Dusan Albanians and Vlachs were forced to work in the salt mines and build churches--as slaves. So we have memories too and we don't think that Albanians were living in the mountains leaving these fertile fields empty so Serbs could take them.

Enough with empty threats. Peace. Before you had Russia and a dirt poor Albania had no one. Now, Albanians are a state and soon will be a modern one, plus partner support, so it will be different.

He's talking about a generation needed to change economy and everything.

"A solution will require an entire generation"

Can you say "frozen conflict"?

A generation? So Kosovo will have to wait at least 20 years to even consider joining the EU? Ouch...

Kosovo solution will take time? I guess that means Koucher, one of the most virulent advocates of Kosovo's independence, is admitting that Kosovo's universal declaration of independence did not solve anything at all and was completely couterproductive.

mister, excuse me but not all of us are paid to speak platitudes.

“The mission in Kosovo has an important role and encourages democratization and multi-ethnicity in Kosovo, devoting particular attention to the security of minorities,” the minister underlined.

Just today there was a case of a Serbian man beaten up and seriously injured while he was inquiring the possibility of returning to Kosovo.

Where were your "organisations" then? How"relatively satisfied"does this make you feel?

Please go home and stop making useless statements mr. Kuchner.
