well, weren´t our albanian boys and girls here writing about some ominous "waves"? well, perhaps, if some of their own "officials" admit that they are simply failing to be even the caricature of a state...

they will of course try to present this as an "unimportant" political figure , disappearing from the pristina-scene etc.

You are wrong there, Aznar party rejects the udi just like "Zapatero's spain" party.

You can read Aznar's current stance on kosovo on an article written by him after the udi :

original article : http://www.larazon.es/23386/noticia/Internacional/El_error_de_Kosovo
google translation : http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.larazon.es%2F23386%2Fnoticia%2FInternacional%2FEl_error_de_Kosovo&hl=en&ie=UTF8&sl=es&tl=en

Some interesting excerpts :

"To begin with we must remember-and I remember very well-that NATO did not go to war in 1999 to ensure the independence of Kosovo. The Alliance was mobilized militarily to prevent a potential genocide by the Milosevic government in that province on the Kosovar Albanian majority, dominated by Serbs and punished so far."

"Despite the massive EU aid and that security has been guarded by soldiers of NATO, the Albanian-majority Kosovo has abused mercilessly serbia minority in revenge for unfortunate historical accounts. It has destroyed their temples of worship, landmarks, has forced their displacement and, ultimately, practice physical separation and the exodus of much of them. Nothing enlightening, to say so smooth. To Recognize Kosovo is to give credence to ethnic cleansing."

They just need to wait until the governments of the countries that haven't recognized yet change from "anti-american" aligned to "pro-american" aligned. Sooner or later it will happen in democratic countries, governments change in those countries. The Spain of Zapatero is not recognizing Kosovo's independence, but the Spain of Aznar would have probably recognized it. They even sent troops to Iraq, which is a much bigger deal to Spanish people than Kosovo being independent or not.

Whatever I think of Thaci aside, he has done the impossible 40 + times.

I realize that he is a warlord criminal, but with regret I say that he is a more effective statesman than our own Tadic-

Thaci, who is a war criminal, demands of the west, and they make ileagal concessions while Tadic, who is an incompotent, begs and the west imposes humiliating conditions.

Maybe if Mr. Nikolic had been in power, the number of countries would have been lower, but I am glad that the majority of the worlds peoples don't play along with Nato's gains

I hate to break it to you.. but if you think Kosovo will be anything Rome was you have another thing coming.. that was by far the funniest thing I have ever read on this forum thingy.

IMF recognized what????? HAHAHAHAHA.. don't you read the headlines..

and Rome at least had potential.. the only thing Kosovo has the potential of is more drugs, more prostitution and more kidney trafficking.

Come on, did they really think they can lobby recognition?! The only ones that can "lobby" in this way are in DC, but seems that DC guys are not willing to do too many favours to third countries for this.
The best, let's say, lobby that Thaci&co can do is to show things are working and developing in a democratic manner and local economy is growing and supporting itself in Kosovo.
But, de facto partition in the north and the need of a donors conference is not quite what some people expected.
So Mr Salihaj, the key to this lock is in Kosovo and if you do not find it fast, who knows how the wheel turns ...

Failure!!! What failure? The richest and most powerful countries have recognized Kosova/o. IMF recognized it and there you go one day at a time...Just remember Rome wasn't built in a day!

I`m sure more organ, drugs and prostitution selling, would ensure albanian goals and pay for more fat attorneys lobying.
After all, washingtons fat cats need money now more than ever.

It is a completely failed 'state', with no chance of legitimacy. The only purpose of it is as a NATO headquarters for southern Europe operations, and perhaps as a dumping ground for contaminated waste, and some experiments on the local population.
But have no fear albanians, Russia has what the world needs (oil, gas, minerals...), the US hardly has anything that the world needs (besides bad Hollywood movies, McDonalds, iPods...). The US is a sinking ship, and Russia is a rising Bear. Once the balance tilts, the Americans will be out of Kosovo for good :).
Cheers!

Oh, oh, look for Salihaj to disappear from the pristina political scene. You can't criticise Thaci like that in the new IUDI state of Kosova. Salihaj better learn fast how K_Albanian democracy works.

sorry mister Adem Salihaj, but no amount of bribing, ehm sorry... lobbying, can make the whole world accept a blatant act of disrespect for international law.

It's both funny and discusting how politicians often think that you can always bend rules or cross bounderies if you just try to convince others long enough that you are doing nothing wrong or convince it's also in their (private agenda) interrests.

And to think that a lot of the support for Kosovo's independence is just because of mighty (though collapsing) economic powers extorting smaller ones. Never mind the multi-millions some Albanian lobbying group in the US donated to the election campain of John McCain (Rep. president candidate)

Sometimes it's sad to be an atheist. I would like to believe there exists a hell were corrupt politicians would end up. But alas, I guess
