"In response to Russia’s claims that EULEX is illegal as its deployment has not been approved by the UN Security Council, the general, who commanded KFOR in 2004-05, said that it was “enough that the decision for EULEX to replace UNMIK was taken by the UN secretary-general, and that the decision to send the mission was made unanimously by EU states in February.”

What a blatant lie! Eulex was allowed by Ban Ki Moon to work under UN's umbrella, NOT to supplant UNMIK. ie. Eulex is legally permitted by UN to be in Kosovo only as long as Ban (or his replacement when Moscow decides against renewing his mandate later) allowed it. Otherwise Eulex will be there illegally as far as UN is concerned. Eulex should remember that antangonizing the UN will only put paid to their goal of eventual UN membership for their ward in Pristina.

Bypassing the UNSC is nothing new to USA they have done it many times. The really is that Serbia & the UNSC will decide kosovo's future not the EU not Bush not Ban Ki Moon

Bypassing the UNSC is the norm for America and their lackies these days. They didn't need UN's permission to go into Iraq, granted, but I cannot see them getting another coallition of the willing here.

No desired results in Iraq and Iraqis are the only ones defending themselves right now. Nobody is helping them. I don't think the same will happen in Serbia.
You cannot force Serbs to be ruled by Albanians and you cannot take their territory away. Serbia is not the Middle East.

This guy is out of his mind if he thinks that they can force anything there. Enough of bullying. It's time Serbia took a much more vocal stand and told them that they will not be tolerated on their territoy any longer. Serbia has signed an agreement with the UN, not the EU. They don't have to take agression from EU any longer. Legally Kosovo is Serbian land and even the Secretary General cannot deny that, so Serbia has every right to say no to EULEX.

Yves will have to continue that... what he calls "hope". :)

let´s just see whether he will take over control. let´s just see.

as for his remark, about "decisions" made by the UNSC secretary general are "enough"...

same answer: let´s just see whether that is enough. :)

I don´t think so, and the Serbs in southern Serbia will react adequately, I am very sure about that.

let´s just hope that french dreamer does not overestimate his influence...

“I must convince the Kosovo Serbs that we’re ready to guarantee the respect and protection of their rights, such as freedom of movement and so on."

Well ain't that a slip of the tongue. I was under the impression that Kosovo Serbs rights and the ability to move freely was already under protection. It seems to me that the Kosovo Albania's and their political puppets weren't all too honest of the real situation taking place in Kosovo. If their rights haven't been protected till this date, as Mr. de Kermabon has just stated! then I wonder how in his right mind would he go about in convincing the Serbs otherwise.

I presume 'the use of force' has become the American norm in this new age!
