"The average will be between 4.2 and 4.3 tons per hectare, Branislav Gulan of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry told Tanjug."

I was curious and decide to see if I could find the same number for the wheat harvest in Denmark. I found this brochure from the Danish Agriculture Society: Numbers in Agriculture 2007

On page 10 there a graph depicting the winter wheat (vinterhvede) and spring barley (vårbyg) yields from 1985 to 2006.

In short, in Denmark the wheat harvest produces approximately 70 hkg per hectar = 7000 kg/ha = 7 tons. Compare that to the 4.2-4.3 in Serbia. You have some way to go yet.

Actually Croatia has a lot of very fertile land right next to Vojvodina in Slavonia, but it is a net importer of food, not an exporter.

Croatia once was an exporter of food but that was before they ethnically cleansed hundreds of thousands of Serbs - many of them farmers who loved their land.

>>Serbs don't have to beg them for food like the rest of the Yugo republics.
Don't brag: It's vojvodina. You have. Only Zimbawbe couldn't do this on fertial plains of Vojvodina

Can any of the former Yugoslav republics match this? This is why the us hates Serbia so much: Serbs don't have to beg them for food like the rest of the Yugo republics.
