If you want change you should be specific. Asking for more Albanian representation is already more specific than simply saying that Albanians are discriminated. But if they want real results they should be even more specific: in which organs are Albanians underrepresented and how many people do they want there extra?

Maybe Halimi was more specific but it doesn't show in the article.

Dave B, nice thought but it won't work.

The Albanians were given everything during Tito regime. They had their own language which was accepted in schools. Which other country would go that far. I can tell you that whether it be America or Australia the education department would not stand for any other language but English being used in schools.

The more the Albanians got the more they demanded. The Albanians are being represented as Serbian citizens. Why do they need to be represented as Albanians? Do the Italians in America get representation as Italians or Americans?
Serbia is a country and all their citizens have equal rights so why special representation for Albanians?

This could be an opportunity for Tadic, get the Albanians on side in Serbia and it could strengthern his position in Kosovo.

Look at history the Nazi's had the chance to get many Soviet peoples on side to fight Russia, they chose instead to slaughter them, if they got the states on side they would have defeated the Soviets. In the same context get the Albanians living in Serbia on side, draw them away from an indpendent state. Make them feel part of Serbia. This will erode nationalist ideas. This will make Serbia stronger all you have to do is work together and you will be able to claim back whats yours. Kosovo.

miri - What? Arrognace? Paid off? Please be more clear.

jonny - No, please do read the body of the text. Albanians are demanding MORE numbers, not representation.
There is a rather huge differance.
And KosovO is in Serbia and therefore Serbs do not need t be represented in their own country, and especially not in front of a quasi illegal state run by warlords and human traffickers.

I'm not sure what the big deal is. The Valley Albanians are expressing a willingness to cooperate with BG, and powersharing, or at least some form of representation in the areas they live in should be granted. I mean if people are pushing for greater rights for Serbs in other areas, why should the same policies be denied here?

Cooperation can only be productive here.

"Arrogant and cocky these demands are. Albanians should remember that he who bites the hand that feeds licks the boots that kicks them."

Do you know any thing about Kosova? Your arrogance has always paid off!!

''also to increase the number of ethnic Albanians in state institutions at local level.''

Haha. Right.
I think this just topped the ''Things least likley to happen in the next few milenia'' list.
