Why can't the Albanians here get it? Serbia, does not want to, and will not recognize an Albanian state on it's land. Why is that so hard to grasp? It will not be needed for Serbia to humiliate itself to do such an unthinkable act. EU will fold like a cheap suit when needed for the sake of profit. Isn't it what this is all about, anyway? And if I hear something about "humanitarian intervention" again, I will puke. Where was "humanitarian intervention" when the Hutus were slaughtering 800,000 Tutsis in Rhwanda? This recognition fever has totally blinded Albanian minds. Wake up!

Jovan,

Do you know how many trillions is the annual budget of France?

"Serbia's rise" will never be France - so calm your nationalistic heat down.

We can cooperate and help you, if you fulfill the conditions:

1. Copenhagen criteria
2. Arrest war criminals
3. Recognize Kosovo's
statehood

Everything can be negociated!
Serbia has to negociate its position in EU. Is very simple: EU wants stability and security in W Balkans and Serbia can provide this forgetting Kosovo. This is it. Serbia get full accessesion in 4-5 years, maybe togheter with Croatia sooner. Everything has a price. Serbia does't need Kosovo because is full of albanians. Tell me one serb who can see Serbia with Kosovo (full of albanians) in EU together! After Serbia meet an agreement with EU about its accession, EU must find understanding at Kremlin. But this can be also negociated by EU...

it's hilarious to see Serbs commenting on what they need in order to join EU. Guess who needs EU more? YOU. Who is Serbia to provide conditions? You're a third world country compared to EU. Albania has the same GDP /PPP as Serbia when calculating the gray economy.

"Serbian government has to start to hand over WAR CRIMINALS(WC) one by one."

I think that what Serbia has been doing. One by one.

Interesting perspective Olf, but the fact remains that Kosovo is still legally part of Serbia.

As for not being in a position to put conditions on France or Bulgaria, they don't need to. The only body with any authority is the UN and the EU has to go through them even if they did have consensus on recognising independence.

The UN is making hasty meetings for discussions with Belgrade about Kosovo, so they obviously don't agree that it has nothing to to with Serbia. Neither do the majority of other nations who have not recognised the UDI.

Serbia’s new government will have to deal with the duties that are not fulfilled by previous governments for the past 8-10 years, except for Kosova issue that it is not an issue anymore for Serbia. If they start Kosova issue again than that would be the end of this Government. Of course , they can only mention the issue of Kosova to please housewife’s and pensioners but they cannot take any action since they are not in Kosova.

Serbia now has to learn cooperate with Hague. Serbian government has to start to hand over WAR CRIMINALS(WC) one by one.

The EU needs to reiterate categorically that as a body it will not recognise Kosovo. Plus this nonsense from the Germans that Serbia will not be accepted into the EU until it recognises independence needs to be dropped immediately.

Otherwise the EU will be unjoinable anyway for Serbia, unless there is an agreement made over Kosovo which is acceptable to Belgrade.

I guess that's part of the reason why the UN are finally starting to have serious discussions with Serbia. If things are legitimised, then all sorts of avenues including the EU will open up for Serbia.

The ball's in the UN court (let's hope it doesn't just keep on bouncing!).

The visa regime is still there and it's nothing to "liberalize" with it - it has to go down the toilet.

BTW: it is frequently (ab)used to prevent Serb businessman attend important meetings.
