Summit approves climate "vision"

Leaders from the world's developed states and rising economic powers agreed a shared vision on climate change at the G8 summit.

Sums up these 'talks' nicely.

The time for talking has well & truly passed & the time for action is passing.

By setting a non-binding target 40 years down the track, countries like the US may alleviate the political problem posed by global warming, but it does zilch when it comes to the physical reality.

And that is that the rate of emissions of greenhouse gases is currently not decreasing, but increasing.

Perhaps they will actually get their act together when the gulf stream 'switches off'.

But by then, it will be too late.
