ida -- you are right about one point -- this was his "mate's galpal, and she is reportedly horrified about what happened to the "jewish" victim.

not to put too fine a point upon it, IDA, but aren't you the one who described me as "a self-confessed jew"? can you imagine such an antisemitic characterization being accepted in any normal press? and then this victim -- in all of my reading i never saw an ethnic identifier, and so assumed he was of german or jewish (or perhaps german-jewish) heritage. but the nationalists have him now id'd as "jew." (why? to somehow imply that he, like the jews, deserve such treatment??)

roberto can't even follow the story straight - so much for reading comprehension.

The girl was not Kovacevic's girlfriend but the girlfriend of his friend/acquaintance Sanel Softic (a Bosnian Muslim/Bosniak).

There was an arguement between Sanel Softic where he accused the Bryan (Jewish guy now in coma) of touching his girlfriend's rear. After this Bryan headbutted Sanel Softic (no height is given for Sanel Softic).

The girlfriend says it bloodied his nose.

After this the Serb came to try and break up the fight but instead got punched in the side of the head by Bryan S.

He then hit him and Bryan S. feel down.

There are differing accounts of who continued to beat him while he was down. Some say 3 men were beating him (the 3rd man was another friend of Sanel Softic).

The Serbian man denied hitting him once he was on the ground - he says he only returned quick hits after he had been hit in the head.

Those who beat him as he was on the ground may have just been the Muslims.

But what does this say about American society when the first punch and physical violence (head-butt) was by the American?

U.S. soldiers beat a Bosnian Serb priest and his son into comas back in 2004 and they got away with it scot free.

They barged into the priest's home in the middle of the night and dragged the two sleeping men out of their bedrooms and into the halls were they beat them into comas then dropped their bodies off at a Tuzla (Muslim) hospital.

The Muslim doctors thought they were traffic accident victims (they weren't given any information).

The son was on life support and has never woken from his coma to this day.

i hope people can follow it; i just entered cameron munter's name in a yahoo news search.

the attacker is 6'9" and the victim 5'6". the victim supposedly got too close to the attacker's girlfriend. and thus "supporting" his mate!

it is NOT about some intrinsic ethnic quality, but it certainly has to relate to a society so accepting of violence and brute force, and sanctioned by the reigning institutions...

furthermore, i cannot even contemplate the concept of justice together with the nation of serbia at least until mladic and karadzic are delivered, and i am not joking.

It is funny how B92 is handling this affair. First the whole thing was ignored for a while. And now some comments - like my one today - censured even though I basically just repeated a point not censured yesterday. It looks like for both B92 and Serbia this is becoming a sensitive issue.

Hi All,

Again this is a simple case and has nothing to do with nationality.
1. Miladin should be returned to court per judge order.
2. Miladin should finish trial in US and receive the penalty of his action if guilty.
3. Consul of Serbian Embassy/Consulate should be under investigation by Serbian authorities.
All other comments not related to this case are unnecessary.

As I wrote yesterday the parents of Kovacevic were making fun of the "small town values" of the Americans. The civilized behavor of being against beating a man to death or putting him in coma is labeled "representing small town values". No wonder that America is shocked. I doubt very much the "readiness" of Serbian officials to cooperate. This famous "readiness" is best known in the Mladic case. In Serbia nothing changed and will not change for a long time. Very sad.

For a state that makes so much noise about Intl law, to employ and be represented diplomatically by such criminals is quite telling. Even worse, they helped him escape the country too. This is the true face of Serbia.

The vice consul was clearly given orders directly by Vuk Jeremic. He is a Jeremic loyalist. Jeremic personally placed him in his role last year as Vice Consul. No one would be stupid enough to issue an emergency passport to someone in jail, without getting orders from the very top.

Hi All,

Breaking the Judge order while in contempt to court for voluntary/involuntary manslaughter does not look good on the defense side.
With my understanding Miladin Kovačević has a pending charge because judge order to handle over his passport.
If Miladin Kovačević is guilty on his pending charges it is up to the JUDGE to give him more time in regard of leaving the US while in contempt to court.
If this guy turn himself in then the judge will forgive him as a good gesture.

The most important here is the charge VULENTARY or Involuntary.
If it is VULENTARY this guy will receive the max of time maybe 15-20 years.

Ps: All the above has nothing to do for being Serbian or Albanian.
Two lives are destroyed…. very sad.

Benny, would you please stop posting negative comments pertaining to Serbia any chance you get. We get the point you dislike anything to do with Serbs or Serbians. As for the story, I'm sure diplomatic and legal sources are at work on this matter, so give it a chance. Please concern yourself with criminal Albanian activities, and let the Serbs take care of theirs.
