Welcome to the world of Democracy, Verice. Serbia has just exchanged the name of its ruling ideology. Do you think the EU or Washington are any less self-serving? Just look at the company Dick Cheney was CEO of, that built Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo, with zero land compensation to Serbia, and the major supplier to troops, etc. in Iraq. Do you think that maybe some of the mighty in the U.S. are getting wealthy off America's illegal and shameful war? That is the way power works, Verice. Doesn't matter what you label it.

I'm inclined to agree with Barac but politics is dirty. It might have been preferable to continue the old government but DSS thought it could gain votes with an anti EU sentiment. There was no other option for the democratic block.

The alternative for Serbia would have been an unholy red, black, blue alliance, which certainly would have protected the legacy of Milosevic, reviewed the conviction of Legija and other mafiosos.

Princip what makes you always think that foreign excrement smells worse than the Serbian variety? Barac's job is not to regulate the EU, its to keep an eye on the corrupt in Serbia.

Lucky for us that the last government failed though, as some within DSS wanted the Anti Corruption Council scrapped. I wonder why that is? Something to do with Mr Miskovic perhaps, and certain campaign contributions...

"Asked whether it will be the EU that might exert pressure in order to decrease corruption and see that European standards are met, Barać said that it will be "hard for someone from the outside to force you if you don't want to"......

influence of tycoons and big capital on the composition of the likely new government is undeniable....

"Via party financing and in other ways, what's in the interest of powerful individuals becomes more important than what's in the interest of the state," Barać concluded"

- what makes some like Barac think that the EU itself is no different - infact is it not the role model for such tycoons to follow ???

This abomination was created by the EU/US to serve the EU/US while everything else is secondary. The question remains whether they are capable of getting Frankenstein to live and to keep it alive.

All of the mishmash of pieces being sewn in will start the process of rejection and it will take a lot of medication and effort to keep that contained.

Without the LDP, it is a very delicate operation indeed. One little permanent rejection and the monster dies.

Lets see what happens to this unnatural creation.
