Mr. Kostunica has served his country with integrity. I hope he stays in politics. He has been a straightshooter while in office in Serbia. He has not bent over to the liberal controlled media around the world. Hope to see him stick around to contest the left and all that want Serbia to say "yes please thank you much may I have another."

Kostunica and DSS aren't going anywhere. They are the political and intellectual elite of Serbia.

Taste of power bganon? no I don't think so, since he has willingly gone into opposition before unlike some people who beg for even the most insignificant parties to join him and get every last percent to form a government...

This "government" will be interesting indeed, who will they blame their mistakes on this time I wonder when Kostunica is sitting in his comfy opposition chair .... ;)

Hallelujah, kostunica is officially history. Praise the lord. he was called "milosevic with gloves" but those gloves were definitely slipping...

svetlana broz told me exactly what he was, at least 5 years ago; and my serb frnds in budapest laughed at me back in 2001 when i expressed my pleasure at milosevic's replacement ("You think he's any different??") of course dr. broz and my serb frnds were right, spot-on, as usual.

within a few months (ok, by november) we will have gotten rid of Bush (finally!!) and serbia will be rid of kostunica. let's hope the replacements will be better -- they could hardly be worse!

peace.

Rest well DSS and prepare for the next battle. This was not our time as we were betrayed by one of our own.

The next election will come to us without any effort. As the EU and US crumble over the next 4 years, our prosperity will be stolen and the sell-outs will fail.

Frankenstein will rip himself apart and realise that all of those pieces sewn into him are in a phase of rejection. Self-destruction will come about.

Rest and prepare. Don't worry bganon, Vojo is going nowhere.

oh looking after his cats. tiger, i suppose nowadays you prefer arkan's best mates leading you to serbia's bright tomorrow. what a pitiful scene that will be :)
and as we all know no point to this government than to sign over kosovo and to earn dacic et al. some money, where my respect goes to dacic obviously :) but there will be deep crisis here i fear afterwards. dont you fear it, tiger? then the doomsday scenarios of no pensions no salaries hyper inflation might come true. i fear very deeply. it's not by accident that tadic wants to give mup to dacic. it isnt to appease or reward dacic, let me tell you. those who ruled serbia 15, 8, 5, 2 years ago still do and they dont appear on no election ticket.
for those who have not grasped how this works: does solana want tadic to recognize kosovo? nope. deos he want tadic to loosen the grip on albanians? yup. so that's what tadic has to deliver. but i'm guessing he pointed to the, eh, snag. see above under dacic, appease, rulers, trouble.

And so the only politician in Serbia who has been in power since 2000 is deciding whether to flee the scene.

All political careers end in failure and Kostunica made some quite big mistakes in recent times and his party have paid the price.

I personally don't think that Voja will go, he discovered he enjoyed the taste of power, but if he does I wish him lots of success reading books and looking after his cats.

Kostunica was right to go to the electorate - the government had faltered and it was the democratic thing to return to the electorate since so much had changed in the DS and G17- view points in just a year.

In so many ways this election has been very important in that now more then ever the choice will be so obvious come the next election. Even IF (because it is a huge if) such a frankenstein (aptly called by ZK UK) coalition D yeS to all that EUrope demand 5 partie list and the 3 party list centered on the SPS form a minority government with the consent of LDP to pass the 126 as is rumoured come the next election t choice for the election (be it 11th May 2012 at the latest) will be Serbia in Europe with Kosovo (SRS DS-NSS) or without (D yeS to all that Europe demands). The Irish who voted down isbon have shown that the EUcrats have nothing more then empty promises.

This election has set the scene and has clarified where many stand - the electorate are a great deal more intelligent then many give them credit for!
