KFOR must either step security or leave it the Kosovo security foerces. I am the latter will do a better business.

The north cannot and should not live in an anarchy anymore. Time for Kosovo security to show its muscles that can carry professionally and humanly all security duties in the entire territory of Kosovo.

Dear, 'Niall',

To me you appear to know nothing about the reality in the ground.

It is the duty of Kosovo police to go in the North and do their business.

It is unconstitutional to do otherwise. It appears that the anarchy in the North is damaging also the Serbian innocent civilians from the number of thugs that are infiltrating from Serbia.

Even innocent Serbians in the NOrth would like to avoid the anarchy. It is the constitutional duty of PM Thaci to take care of the entire Kosovo territory.

What is the big deal about a flag? Do not the albanians who live in Presevo fly the albanian flag? Did Belgrade demand it be taken down? Yes they made some waves but cooler heads prevailed and they still fly the flag. Why is Mr Rexjepi calling for the removal of the flag? Embracing all people of Kosovo i guess that went off the table. Rules are made up as we go since they have not controlled Northern Kosovo and those mines everyone is still bent out of shape.

Regardless of your position on the status of Kosova/Kosovo, this sounds to my old ears like a cop out.

It doesn't matter how bad the Serbs may (or may not) be, the ethnic Albanians demanded their own country. Now they (effectively) have it. It's *their* responsibility to govern it effectively. That means finding a way to include all ethnic groups in a manner that brings everyone together.

"They won't play according to my rules" didn't run Kosovo under Serbia and it won't run it under ethnic Albanian rule.

The calling in of some foreign power to do the job of the new government is a disgrace. How easy did they think this was going to be?

If you don't want the job (or if you're not up to it), don't ask for it.

A new apartheid seems to have fallen over Kosovo, and this time it's with the Albanians at the helm.

It's not a double standard to support the waiving of Serbian flags in Presevo or Kosovo because both places are still legally part of Serbia.

Mike

Albanians, both in power and on this site, need to realize and accept the limits of their delegated authority. Northern Mitrovica is a separate town under a separate jurisdiction. Mr. Rexhepi is the mayor of southern Mitrovica, and as such, should mind the affairs of his sector. If he's so concerned about the lack of co-existence in Northern Mitrovica, perhaps he can address why there are Albanians living in the north, but not a single Serb in the south. Perhaps he can explain why he gets upset when wreaths are removed from Albanian war memorials, but Serb graves continue to be descecrated. Perhaps Mr. Rexhepi as mayor of Big Colombia (because if Olf is going to be witty and call the north Little Columbia, it needs a larger counterpart), should be more concerned with addressing the safety and concern of the people under his control, rather than pining away for something he never had any authority over.

Aside from Kostunica, most Serbs are willing to write off the Albanian parts of Kosovo. Albanians still have this mad lust to control all of Kosovo. Forget it, it ain't yours, and it ain't coming under your control. Forget Presevo too. The US doesn't give a hoot about it and no international power will support its annexation. With all that's said and done, I'd say the Albanians came out rather on top after the UDI. The fact they still want more land to control attests to the hypocrisy of their claims of being morally, culturally, politically, and socially better than their Serb counterparts.

It's obvious that Albanians don’t understand that they need to listen and masters will do all work for them. Any time they try to think, act or say something, they make fool of themselves and of any simple life situation. (t-shirt episode, medical help sequel, disco fiasco, seeing one Serbian flag etc.).

Just look honestly and think are those people capable of doing anything on their own. Where is the future if those people are the best Kosovo has ever had? Just think how realistic are dreams about skyscrapers, economic boom and don’t even think about culture and democracy development. EU – looks really “very close” or unreachable.

I agree 100% with PRN. Kosova Serbs are prolonging their misery by refusing to accept reality. Imagine if Serbs were members of Kosova State Police incidents such as "Kosova Serb detained", "bus stoned", "KSerb rights violated" wouldn't happened. Because there would be someone other than Kosovar ethnic police officers during patrols and engagement in certain investigation.
Thus, I agree that Kosova Police should take over security in North but, only with Serb minority members among their ranks.

If the Kosovo Albanians were prepared for a true democracy, these types of comments would never occur. There is something called freedom of speech and freedom of expression in democratic societies. Everyone is allowed to fly any flag they wish to raise, period. If Serbs cannot fly their flag in all areas of Kosovo, then this is a sign of ominous things to come for the Serbian people who remain in Kosovo. This article is quite a joke. I can't believe that someone could in all seriousness express public dissatisfaction with someone else's flag. A link to this article needs to be sent to every international organization that does not truly understand the true situation on the ground in areas where Serbs are a minority. People need to wake up and look past the US and Albanian propaganda that has filled our minds for the past 10 years.

Mathew I seem to recall all the big noise coming from Serbs here last year when in the city Council in the Presheva Valley the Albanian flag was raised. As a matter of fact some of the Albanian representatives there were even being questioned by Serbian authorities. Of course you had the like of Jovan and his fellows here even calling for the arrest of the people who raised the flag.

This mentality lead Serbs to fight against all Balkan nations who wanted self-determination because they want to rule other nations but not to be ruled by others.
If Serbs cannot be outside of Beograd rule, why other nation should be run by Beograd. How about Vojvodina, Sandjak and Presevo? Why they have to live with Serbs and controlled by Serbs?

2 Serbs were killed in the past three days (by Serbs). Kosova MUST care for its citizens and restore peace. While the leader of the 'parliament' representing 30000 Serbs might not like it, average Serb citizens need protection

Albanians will never control Northern part of Kosovo. So concentrate on the land given to you by the US, so to keep the relative peace, leave the Serbian part alone. Serbs do not want to live with Albanians, and certainly not controlled by Albanians. Poor Rex is seeing unknown Boogey Men in Mitrovica, that is funny.

How is what occurred there not a double standard? Look what your leaders do in Belgrade first before accusing. Some of you here have the tendency to throw the stone and hide your hands.

Of course the situatio north of ibër must improve. it can not be any more a heaven of crime and delinquency, where recently Serbian thugs and criminals have started to kill each-other, perhaps not agreeing in deviding the areas of influence.

My heart is in the right place when I think 'Coolness' and 'restraints' of K-Albanians is what prevents incidents anywhere in Kosovo.

Those troubled (remaining) Serbs, Bosniaks, Roma...heh?!?
what can you do about them?

well done mr ivanovic, and the other guy who insists he's serb :))
now.

'members of the Serbian MUP'

mr redzepi should know that obviously other than in his head there's one everywhere else too. even on his council for security, it's the agreeable, smiling guy :) but word to the wise dont go looking for the boys in, say, the homes of prominent leaders of serbs in kosovo. tell your cousins not to, too :)

". . .and the hoisting of the Serbian national flag in the village of Rudare in northern Kosovo."

Someone should ask this guy if he wants some cheese with his whine. . .

So, according to this Einstein. . .Albanian "kosovars" have all the right to wave and display the flag of a foreign county, Albania, but other citizens of the Serbian province of Kosovo cannot fly their national flag?!?

Doesn't he know that Res. 1244 says Kosovo is Serbian. . .what's the problem then?

Brian

This is a scary warning to Serbs that Albanains are out to destroy any autonomy they have and if they ever got total control they would invade the Serb areas. Serbs must resist and get the Serb army in Kosovo.

"the hoisting of the Serbian national flag in the village of Rudare"

I seem to recall many many thousands of Albanian flags flying all over the place. So ONE Serbian flag requires great restraint eh?

Such double standards...

More security needed....thats probably to stop the Albanian uprising because the expected waves of recognition that the West told them would come after 15/06 never came....will not come...Oh dear this independence malarky is not so fun after all....In limbo forever and losing North of the Ibar.

Never mind at least there is a summer full of blackouts to look forward to.

I can never see constructive comments here.
You guys learn a bit of being honest and discuss in a more genuine way - not as typicall serbs and albanians.

In genuine discussions there is no "Damn", "ha" "kidding", "ridiculous".

Please learn - study!!!!!

@johnny

It's not a double standard to support the waiving of Serbian flags in Presevo or Kosovo because both places are still legally part of Serbia.

A new apartheid seems to have fallen over Kosovo, and this time it's with the Albanians at the helm.

you know! they say you think twise and you say once that albanians are doing so this is just part of the comunication whith a world so plan A doesnt work, always is plan B ,so we don't forget kosova has a costitution and as a state has right to do anything to protect his integrity and if any other country try to invade them they will be punished by international law
