Dear Kate
“... 'WE' the people of the EU most certainly do want Serbia in (if they wish to join).”

I would like to remind you that WE waged war against Serb Military and the people of the EU ´most certainly` think it was right to do so. Serbia’s position instead is still that before 1999.
I have not noticed a Serb politician announcing it was wrong what they did in Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo.

Serbia’s choice to destabilize its neighbouring countries, each time choosing more radical parties is clear evidence they do not “wish to join”.
WE finally have to notice the facts.

Ruuudi Völler,

those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!

Apparently it is OK for those in the EU to harbour wanted suspected NAZI war criminals again and again over the last 60 years. Recenlt we find;

"Milivoj Ašner, a former Ustasha spotted in Austria "in apparent good health", says he is willing to be tried for war crimes, Haaretz reports.

But the Tel Aviv daily adds the Austrian authorities continue to insist that they cannot extradite him to Croatia, saying their "hands are tied because medical exams indicated that Ašner is unfit to stand trial""

Also in Austria;
"Erna Wallisch, another suspected war criminal who worked as a guard in the Nazi concentration camp at Majdanek and reportedly confessed to having sent children into gas chambers, died aged 86 in February in Vienna without having faced trial. "
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/austria/2139631/Nazi-war-criminal-spotted-at-Euro-2008-match.html

Or previously in Austira;
"Dr Heinrich Gross, an Austrian psychiatrist accused of killing disabled children in the Nazi era, died of old age in 2005 in his home in Vienna. He continued his career as a doctor after the war, despite evidence of his crimes. "

No cries from Netherlands or Belguim about upholding international justice over these suspected war criminals openly living in a fellow EU state!

Double Standards perhaps ?

Then why didn't you tell it before the Presidentials and the Parliamentals ?

Ruuudi: "but WE, the People of the EU,
dont want them in!
There is still outstandings in the EU. War crimimanls dont won´t ease it."

I don't fully understand what you are saying, but I can tell you that 'WE' the people of the EU most certainly do want Serbia in (if they wish to join).

As for any point about war criminals - I think that you'll find that this is no longer a provision of Serbia joining the EU. If it were, there are many other countries in the region who could also be penalised for various horrendous crimes.

Why should the young people in Serbia not be given the same chance as others in Europe? It's ridiculous to try and take the moral high ground (in whichever country you're from), not to mention being xenophobic and offensive.

In reply to comment number 2, as far as I am aware there has never been an opinion poll taken in any EU country on whether Serbia should be allowed to join or not so your point is not one based on any evidence.

And theres nothing more that Serbs would want either then for the UK to respect Serbian Sovereignity, territorial integrity and international norms, laws and UNSC resolutions (1244) that the UK have formulated and signed to be obligated by - do that and the WHOLE of Serbia will be very pleased to fully participate in the EU of 'equal' partners!!!

Wordswprth its simple - ALL of Serbia or not at all and that is a message that even DS state publically since that is the will of the electorate! Some parties may have different perspectives but all bar Cedomites (5%) see Serbia with Kosovo in the EU only - this will never change whatever you may 'advise' to the likes of Markovic of Jagodina.

I am British born and can openly state that that is a blessing and a curse - a blessing that my grandfather survived the second world war and the darkness that befell his homeland but a curse to live in exile from the homeland in a state that continues to wrongly 'advise' (many of my generation may say betray) the home nation since the second world war! Those who speak to Wordsworth should be under no illusion that he is after all the UK ambassador who talks not of Serbian interest but that of the UK alone nothing more and nothing less!

Strong words maybe but that is the sentiment of many British born Serbs and why many I know have, plan and prepare for nothing other then to return to our roots given the spin and deceit that is spun against the homeland!

Wordsworth your words are worth nothing while the UK acts out of the bounds of international laws and disrespects Serbia's Sovereignty - hopefully many a proud Serb you meet lets you know nothing other then that first and foremost only All of Serbia will ever join - take or leave it!
