It seems the Albanians outsmarted the Serbs. The Serbs should have negotiated when the time was ripe, they would have gotten much more out of it. Now it may be a bit late since I don't see the US, UK and France going back on their recognition - it would mean bending to Russia's demands and that wont do for many geoploitical reasons.
Serbs need to be more tactical and flexible in the new world - it seems their diplomatic gear is out dated. It doesn't work to just bang your head against the wall anymore - they should know by now that it produces no results.
Well, at least they will learn something from this mistake for the future when other small provinces may also choose to detach themselves from Seriba...they should attend to it differently before alientating the whole populattion with Serbian nationalist propaganda and then ponder around the world on the injustice it was done to them.

to maks.

Really maks? You want to rip my country apart? And I thought Serbs were the "monsters of balkans?" Thanks for showing your true face.

Thanks for your “reliable” information about who is president of “Serbian” province of Kosovo. Please help me to know who is president of Serbian province of Vojvodina? Who is president of Serbian province of Sandjak?
Are they invited to SC to speak? I am looking forward for that day to come.

Since you are constantly insisting on further negotiation, Mr. Tadic, I think it is better later rather than sooner.

Let me suggest you a date for 'serious' negotiation.

How about February 30th, 3999?

The time flies, dont worry about a few milleniums...we will be there.

This would, certainly make sense, as I hope by then situation in Kosovo might settle.

The difference from the independence that Tadic wanted to give us and the one we have is 1%. Tadic thank you for your previous offers (99% independence, more than and less than x, some island model) but we do not need you.

"He said that in the new circumstances, following “the proclamation of the so-called state of Kosovo,“ Serbia had to make certain strategic changes."
In other words: to give green light to Feith and EULEX. But obvious "Kosovo is Serbia".

Winds of Change

New talks about neighbourly relations between the two states are inevitable.

The sooner they are held the better is for the countries themselves and for the peace and stability of the region as whole.

Mr. Tadic I suggest to you that such meeting should be held on quarterly basis.

Minority rights within the two states and Euro-Atlantic integrations should top the agenda.

Close commuinication is the ONLY way to move forwards.

Here us what TADIC is saying. We want to recognise Kosova as independent country – just need split in two parts first, he knows there are no alternatives- and Serbia has lost the battle.

Russia is exploit the "precedent of partition" to give even more open support to the regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia which have broken with Georgia only to become Moscow's effective clients. Moreover, unilateralism will lock Serbia and Kosovo in tense conflict; an embittered Serbia's normalisation could be delayed for a generation, foreshadowing instability in the region and derailing reform in neighbouring Bosnia, whose Serbs view events in Kosovo as bolstering their own claims to reverse the progressive surrender of power to the central government.

We will only talk to Serbia when they recognize Kosova.
