Aside from Princip's statement, the bigger issue for me personally, is that Croatia is wiping itself clean of any past responsibilty. Extratdition procesess are just formalities that can easily be swallowed up by appeals and reappeals. All for the sake of going through the motions. Nothing else.

It's not like anybody cares anymore right?

This fellow would be hanging from the gallows if there was proof of Jewish blood on his hands. But since it's probably only Serbian blood, nobody really cares.

Time heals all wounds, and in Croatia's case, they also get swept under the carpet.
And to be allowed into the EU family, without so much as any sort of formal apology, recognition, or even hint of a system of genocide was in place, is even more insulting.

"What more would you have Croatia do? "
How's about budgeting 1/100th of the money that is spent on hunting down innocent Serbs, and tracking it's OWN criminals for starters. Plenty of them in Canada, Australia and Argentina my friend..

Princip, your comment is absolutely gobsmacking. Croatia is attempting to try this individual for criminal acts and still is the target of your criticism. What more would you have Croatia do?

If Serbia or Israel feel they can succeed in extraditing and trying this individual, then they should do so.

Odd to think that Austria was allowed to entertain wanted NAZI war criminals for over 60 years and in the meanwhile join the EU ?

Didnt the Netherlands have anything to say about this inconsistancy? Oh yes I forgot the ICTY Hague was set up on the premise that its mission statement was "innocent until proven Serb". Ever stranger is the choice of Croatia for trial - especially given its justice system is hardly partial when it suspends police investigators for reporting NAZI propaganda at concerts and then pretends to investigate the suspension but;

"The problem is that the investigation is due to be conducted by Foreign Minister Berislav Rončević who, according to some media, is a friend of Perković's godfather who reportedly requested Gašparac's suspension. "

Equally damning of the Croatian judicial institutions is the fact that the Hague have highlightedd clear obstruction by Croatia in the operation storm war crimes trials. http://www.b92.net/eng/news/region-article.php?yyyy=2008&mm=06&dd=18&nav_id=51185

Maybe a more appropriate place of trial and extradition of this NAZI Croat geriatric should be to Isreal under a UN mandated court to investigate and trial the NAZI Croatians still alive who were responsible for genocide of 700,000+ during the second world war.
