How about the massacre of Srebrenice that happened in the presence of Dutch troops??? You shouldnt throw a stone if you live ina glass house.

Problem here is these westerners didnt know what to expect as anything is possible in our region. All of their experiences in the balkans were unprecedented through out their career and they found themselves in a frozen state when these events unfolded.

When everybody becomes accountable about what they have done and admit to the wrong doing and apologize for it, thats when the reconciliation starts, until then this iam better your worse chit chat will conitnue and will make the above objective less and less realistic.

Peggy,

I don´t think that "Slav" will agree, since he probably thinks the muslims in the balkans were victims of "genocide" by the evil Serbs...

telling him that war "is hell"...won´t have much effect on people who see themselves mainly as victims...

but you are completely right, there is a big difference between those mosques destroyed in war-times...and the churches and graveyards that were destroyed under the eyes of the socalled "peace troops"...

Slav I agree that destroying relegious buildings and property is a crime.

The difference here is that the destruction in Bosnia happened during the war and war is hell. All sides took part in this, it was tit for tat. These dispicable acts were happening in Kosovo in 2004. Well after the war.
What is their excuse?
In peacetime this sort of thing is called an act of terrorism.
Do you agree with that?

to "Slav":

I agree, but only partly.

it´s a known phenomenon in every armed conflict, so nothing really new.

and of course, in the socalled balkans every side has done that.
also the Serbs, but, and here I would disagree, speaking of a systematic approach is simply propaganda.

being realistic in here is quite difficult, it seems.

nevertheless, it´s a crime no matter who commits it.

The destruction of Orthodox Churches in Kosovo is a vile and disgusting act. Part of the reason behind it is "cultroside" destrying the Serb culture in Kosovo. This is a method of ethnic cleansing a way of wiping out the fact that the Serbs were there at all. As a Slav (who happens to be of Muslim faith) I can say that these actions a strictly prohibited in the religion and are considered a major violation of the ethics of the religion.

At the same time however, it should be admitted by Serbs that the destruction of not 100 but more than 1000 mosques and muslim religious buildings in Bosnia (I think you will agree it is systematic) is equally appalling. Similarly it's purpose was cultroside and ethnic cleansing, leading to the creation of a Serb mini-state. The problem is there are many Serbs talking about the former but very few talking about the latter.

Can I hear a few agree?

YES, Nenad we were shooting on them, and we knew that they will shoot on us,if they can-it is normal reaction. Exactly as Dirty Hary use to say "Everybody must know his own limitations", same goes for this Uzica guy, who should know that our cops will shoot on him if he points the gun on them, or shoots them. To papajohn,

all K-Serbs are welcome to live in Kosovo and all Serbs are welcome to visit Kosovo. But, whoever attacks values Kosovo will get an answer this attacker from Uzice got.
It is the right of each state to protect its values and react to such assault.

Good luck Kosovo on your own way...

Ben, you are quick to call this an act of terrorism.

When Albanians destroyed and burned hundreds of Orthodox churches in Kosovo did you call that an act of terrorism?

I suppose you called it an angry mob fully justified as they were frustrated at having to endure those eye sores called Orthodox churches and Monasteries.

Which one is an act of terrorism? One man losing the plot and commiting a crime (not terrorism) or organized systematic destruction of Serbs and Serbian religeous sites?

Many people in America have done a lot worse, like all those college shootings etc. They were not called terrorists for that, but one Serbs losing the plot and doing something similar is automatically labelled a terrorist by you.

Sounds like quite a bit of prejudice is driving your opinion here.

Frankly, it is surprising that there are no more of such 'incidents'.

Can anybody imagine what is a life of a Serb like in Kosovo?
How can anybody be able to process this amount of frustration?

I wonder in who's custody is this person? Serbian, Umnik's, Albanian? We have the right to know the fate of our fellow countrymen so, B92 can you report with more in detail?

Should anybody feel happy with the creation of miserable Kosovo 'state'?

which borders??? are you daydreaming?

well, I think it wouldn´t be very wise to even try that, my dear albanian friend, you could burn your fingers severely.

as a sidenote: instead of our albanian friends here, I have the guts to condemn violence in general, even if commited by a serbian individual.

unfortunately, our albanian friends here, with one single exception, were too much of a coward to do the same, when an over 70 years old serbian woman in Pristina was beaten up by albanian beatniks.

just another reason, why Serbia will prevail:

we have real character.

and to the injured Albanian who, although working for an illegal institution, was just earning money to feed his family: get well!
