To all serbs. you are the most tolerant and lost people in europe.

Stop wondering why? and accept the fact that you are and always will be surrounded by people who want to weaken your foundation. It's a hard pill to swallow, but swallow it before you trampled on again by europe.

'Evil to him, who evil thinks'- "honi soit qui mal y pense"

Stop trying to be friends wiith everyone that burned you in the past, or it will happen again.

Then again you just chose Tadic and Dacic for your future...not the wisest decision one can make!

I am also unaware of ethnic cleansing in Serbia. Bosnia, Croatia, yes.

..and Kosova, where were you when Slobodan Milosevic was ordering cities and towns to be razed to the ground? Oh yes, you were in some European country enjoying a biscuit and tea.

As someone mentioned earlier that there is no need for nationalist rhetoric on this topic.

Dragan, you should read better to see that this guy didn't serve his mandatory military service and not as you alledge because he didn't fight against Serbian separatists in Croatia.

Im Croat and I also found myself in a similar situation. I left Croatia as a 2 year old and when I returned there for a visit several years ago I almost was arrested for the same reason.

Croatia basically had no record that I was living overseas for 20 years but the army records showed I hadn't served my military service.

This guy will get off once they confirm he left Croatia as a kid and therefore he doesn't have to serve. Same situation as to what happened to me.

"It's still a better treatment that Bosniaks are getting if they cross to what used to be their homes in Rep Srpska though"

That's not true. Bosniak/Muslim returns to the RS have been the most successful returns in Bosnia so far.

Many thousands of Bosniaks have returned to RS towns and cities and have been living there for years.

Thousands live in Banja Luka for example.

The Muslim return to Croat areas and the Serb return to Muslim and Croat areas is the least and poorest by far.

So he is being thrown in jail because he didn't want to join the Croats and ethnically cleanse his people, and himself. Wow, this is only possible in 'Democratic' Croatia. Nothing much has changed since WWII, except this time Europe (lead by Germany) welcomes the Croats and their policies towards minorities with open arms.
Just like Yogi Berra said, 'It's deja vu all over again'.

this will scare the rest (of potential) now. I have no doubt that that's, at least in part it was done. It's still a better treatment that Bosniaks are getting if they cross to what used to be their homes in Rep Srpska though

I come from a minority in Serbia and expect would be treated the same if I returned there (VS has taken me to court). It is an ex-Yu wide issue and not specific to Croatia, so no need for the nationalist rhetoric...

Sac, being taken to court and being taken to prison are not the same thing.

So is this the type of treatment Serbians can expect from the Croatians if they intend to return to their home?

Looks like not much has changed since the 40s.
