Sarkozy: Serbia must be offered EU perspective

He also added that "France has chosen to be on Greece's side on this issue", which is also a very important factor of his speech.
As for what Serbia is concerned, he said a lot more intersting things, but the general essence of his speech was that he preffers the Serbians as the 2nd main power of the Balkans (after Greece) rather than anyone else. At least that is the general feeling here according to the interpretation of not only his speech but the body language in general.

Plus, money is power! Croatia, Slovenia are already richer and Albania will soon pass Serbia. When it comes to numbers, Croatia has some 4 million and there are 6 millions Albanians around. It will not be easy for Serbs to be a power again. No one will be pushed around

Albo please, don't present your dreams and your wishes as facts. Serbia right now, (after the separation of kossovo and Montenegro) still has more that 10 million people population. On the other hand your little Albania has 3,6 million today estimate.

Economically, Serbia is still 10 times more developed and reacher already that your Albania, which is still the most undeveloped country in Europe. (You are still champions in that...)

So don't dream that your little albania will become powerful - even if ALL the neighbouring albanian population unites with the mainland... (Albania with ALL the albanian populations of Kosovo, Tetovo, Montenegro united, does not make more that 6 million people in total...). But of course they will never be united...

So, Serbia still is a much more powerful country and much more developed... and much more importnant if you like.... than your little "third-world" albania.

You will not become a major power in Balkans even if 200 years pass.

The idea is not to have a 750,000 standing army, the idea is to have enough to defend till your partners step in or scare any opponent right away (see Israel). For that money is king. Despite what some may think, Albanians don't want to invade anyone anyway. Serbs, from history, as long as they think they are more powerful than their neighbors, they start a war for territory ("liberation" wars)

If that is the truth, France certainly adopted very strange strategy to achieve it. But it is certainly direction where we, (Greeks and Serbs), should be going. (Much intensiver cooperation between two brotherly nations in all fields, economy, military …).
