with the majority of the world on the serbian side, and with UNSC 1244 in force... there is simply no need for any deal with the terrorists.

time works for Serbia.

Kosovo will be re-integrated.

and Mr.Svilanovic should not help creating false hopes in the "albanian camp"... it just wouldn´t be honest. they are being duped anyway, but at least that should be left to the US, since the Albanians will have to live with Serbs together sooner or later. so it´s contra-productive for the Serbs to fool them. ...but on the other side, ...who is Svilanovic anyway? he´s only speaking for himself...

This is s good start for the media to bash around and to introduce a sense of wrong doing, when Kosova was denied the status of a Republic. Its a well thought out and highly sophisticated statement aiming to prepare the public of Serbia for the inevitable truth that sooner or later they will accept the fact that Kosovo is Independent and that the political errors that have been made over the past 100 years or so, have now come home to haunt them. If you dont pay on the way In You pay on the way Out!

Goran, Goran, -- there is already an "Ohrid-type Agreement" it is the Ahtisaari plan which is largely inspired by Ohrid and which is implemented already in the Constitution....

Essentially, this is the Serbian offer of more than autonomy but less than independence. The Albanians have self-rule with a technical agreement in place to permit freedom of movement for both goods and people who are loyal to Serbia.

This is a self-fulfilling offer as there really is no other option. The Albanians live in their "independent Kosova" and the Serbians with the other non-Albanians live in the province of Kosovo with loyalty to Belgrade.

What must be acknowledged is that Serbia control a large part of the north and south with pockets in the east and west as shown in this map http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c7/Kosovoethnicmap.jpg

The problem at the moment is that the Albanians are delusional to believe they can somehow control all of Kosovo and the other ethnic groups. If we are serious for a moment, it is obvious that will never happen. Sadly, the Albanians are not much liked in that region by any of the other ethnic groups so they must accept ruling only themselves in the areas where they form a majority.

So long as the occupiers are in Kosovo, that is the only way unless they prefer violence. One thing is certain though, independence is irreversibly blocked at the UN so there will come a time for negotiations.

There is no need for special agreements for special group(s) of Kosovo people. Kosovo is state of its citizens and it is regulated by the Constitution which will be effective on 15th of June 2008.
Good luck to Kosovo on its own way, good luck to its people towards the future...

For now this idea seems acceptible. Having a legal framework for 'functional separation' will contribute to better quality of life of the Kosovo Serbs. As well, better communication between Belgrade and Prishtina is necessary to start the process of figuring out the fate of the missing people on both sides.
Especially the fate of the kidnapped.

Dream on. I think that cooperation as described here would lead to civil war within Serbia!

Serbia's position is clear that Kosovo is its province. At best the UDI government can be treated as if it is the formal provincial government, but that would mean no flags and no anthems. I can't see this working.

On the other hand, if Serbia wants to keep Kosovo, the only plan I can see currently see working is for Serbs to enlarge their population in Kosovo (by any means possible - including making lots of babies).
