It is time the USA ceased interfering in the internal affairs of other nations. You have got your bloody hands already full in Afghanistan & Iraq. You haven't really succeeded there either. Stop interfering in China as well. Please just go away, you are not welcome in the world any more. It is time Mr. Putin demonstrated upon you the same disgust that he so rightly displayed for that silly French reporter.

Who says that Kosovo is a sovereign state? Krusty the clown?

If and when the UN Security council proclaims this then the rest can say it, but until then all these "experts" from the US should keep quiet. They only look as delusional as the Albanans.

Do they really expect to frighten the Serbs into accepting their version of reality by repating the same old line?

Only the UN can make this a fact.

Here we go again. The Yanks spin and spin and spin. Sure isn't Iraq a model of democracy?

These guys make me sick. I wish they would just go away.

@rollercoaster:

if you hit k-albanians with the truth...(kla-terror, albanian lies and threats, not to speak about their violence against non-albanian poeple ) you will most likely hit 95 percent of them.

..because most of them know the truth, but they can´t speak up. there´s still the kla-thugs.

the analyses state nothing which is already known - but is it known also in Serbia?

do Serbian politians talking about facts? I don't want to say, that they are telling lies - but they rather speak about national myths and economic illusions instead about hard facts.

as a result we read comments here like "wasting of space" (Aleks), "B92 calls everyone who backs DS" (Marko), "serbo-russian market" (raso), "they will lose (!)" (Jovan)

Petar, a friend of mind, born in Serbia, would say: if you bomb Serbia with truth, you hardly hit anyone.

"“historic possibility to take positive action towards the Kosovo Albanians,” to show that what had gone on in the past had been a mistake, and to work on improving relations. "

It couldn't be said better!

so, now every "former envoy" is an expert whose words are very important, right? :)

VoA and Gebhard, wow, I am impressed.

Serbia is at crossroads, ...wow.

how many times are they gonna repeat it, until they realize that this stupidity doesn´t work?

the US administration seems to be very clueless about how to go on in the balkans...

they will lose.

B92, should get the direct link of what exactly he said; Some grammer problems. Kosovo was> no, he said Kosovo is a sovreign and independent country and Serbia knows that has to live with Kosovo as good neighbors. A dialogue to build this neighboring relationship will be needed after a while. Additionally, he said, neither Brazil, China, Russia, or India can't change this fact.
Moreover, Girbald is Obama's chief adviser on foreign affairs and it is wildely rumored to be THE FUTURE State Secretary if Obama wins.

Gelbard, with his typical American arrogance states

"..the fact was that Kosovo was a sovereign state .."

We, Americans create the new facts, and that is all there is to it. Is it not Mr.Gelbard?
Well, not so fast, sir.
Your facts have been 'de-factualized' so often now that nobody believes any longer that the situations America creates, are of a permanent nature.
Afganistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Gaza prove much more than any words you could possibly utter ,that your New World Order ideology is crumbling- in front of our eyes.
More and better cruise missiles and bombs, which is the only thing our country ended up believing in, won't change the situation.
As an American of Serbian extraction, I can assure you that, with granting this 'independence' to the U.S. military base of Bondseel a.k.a 'Kosova', America has only created a focus of a potentially uncontrolable situation.

Also,your suggestion that

" ...dialogue between Belgrade and Priština is required.”

sounds fabulously hypocritical, after hastily insisting on breaking precisely these very dialogues in order to force your solution on the Serbs.

I would highly appreciate it if Mr. Gelbard would specify what he means when he says he "was 'impressed' by the strides taken by the Socialist Party of Serbia to accept democratic ideals, and that party leader Ivica Dačić was 'displaying a progressive stance in that respect.'" Is it his statement that present situation in Serbia and the developments on the political scene "prove that SPS policies have been right" or that "president Milosevic was unlawfully kidnapped, forcefully dragged to The Hague to be murdered there", that wash them clean of their past?
Mr. Gelbard, I do understand your fear of having to include the Radicals in a Government of Serbia - even Boris Tadic seems capable to comprehend that - but please, do not make Ivica dacic a democrat and his party a democratic one!

yeah right, that nonsene they told also about russia during the hodorhovski-trial.

what followed was the (until then) record-fdi of 23 billion usd into russia.

what are western companies going to do? stay home and die a little faster?

will fiat stay home because peanuts-business (if you call cash-burning that way) is that charming and serbo-russian market not interesting?

will us-steel give back europe´s largest steel-mill in smederevo and move to europe´s zimbabwe, albania ?

everybody knows the answer to that questions, so keep your dirty mouth shut.

can´t hear this old relicts from the past anymore, that still havent managed to realize the time and realities - also they - meanwhile live in.

???? This is a story?

Source: Voice of America (world famous CIA funded propaganda station)

Interviewee: Robert Gelbard, US official who peddles his government's political line.

Calling him a 'balkan analyst'
is disingenuous to say the least.

What a waste of space and entirely of no factual, insightful or news worth value, unless we must always report what 'officials' say.
