To Tim,
(If the Albanians expect to solidify their illegal gains with this tactic they have another thing coming.
(tim, 4 June 2008 09:53)

You sound like a someone that really has the ides as to what are you talking about, could you share as to what it is that albanians have coming to them if they close the borders? O let me guess you`ll burn them down again! Sadly for as long as there will be people like you, our counries wont get any closer, i just hope that you are sebian that lives in serbia rather than Kosovo :))

The border might be closed only if the UN decides it should be closed.
I am amazed that the K-Albanians still think that they run the show.

If you ever become capable of running a country and defending it then you might get a voice, but until then please stop making fools of yourself by beating your chests.

When do you have any say in what goes on in Kosovo? You don't. Everyone knows it and when you start making statements like border crossing closures you risk looking very silly indeed.

You don't control anything. In the end the UN controls it all.

"“I don’t think it’s possible to carry out this measure in the long run, as, legally speaking, it’s shaky,” he pointed out, adding that UNMIK was responsible for administrative crossings, and not the Kosovo government which was mentioning such possibilities."

Why is it ok for the Serbs to completely disregard UNMIK's authority by organizing local elections in Kosova when it is crystal clear that only UNMIK has that authority. That is not only legally shaky but completely illegal.
Now when Albanians try to do something you are quick to point the UNMIK authorities. Mr. whatever is your name, what you do to undermine UNMIK authority is going to bite you.

Why is it ok when Serbia closes the borders. I have read here on B92 countless of times about villagers of Presheva who can't even go to work on their fields that happen to be in Kosova. I never heard any Serbs here complain how inhumane that was. I just want the Serb posters here to know that we are fast learners. Whatever tactics Serbia uses or try to use on us, we are using or going to use on Serbia or whatever Serbia influences.

I have to say, your comment illustrates just how absurd the thinking of a bunch of the Serb/Pro-Serb posters here is:

You say "..It is clear that the Ahtisaari Plan doesn't work in these kind of circumstances."

Refresh my memory here, but wasn't it Serbia and Russia that have been against the Ahtisaari plan from the very beginning? Hasn't it been Serbia that has tried anything and everything to undermine any initiatives from the Kosovo government and the EU for the implementation of that plan?
If the Ahtisaari plan were to fail, I wonder how many Serbs would have the nerve to blame the Albanians for it.

Whether it feels justified or not, the Serbian government has tried to make life as miserable as it can for Kosovo, more specifically, the non-Serbian part of the population, which of course is mostly Albanian.

And here you turn around and whine at this perceived retaliation.
You did not expect the Albanian authorities to give you a kiss for all the "favors" Serbia is doing them, did you?

As an American saying goes... "Don't dish it out if you can't take it."

Well off course every country that has problems with smugling from a neighbouring country simply closes the border till there have ben built new security and the border guards can be sent there. If you forgot it was serbs that burned the border crossing down and now there criminal activities can grow. So until the borders are re built and can fuction properly there are always the other borders you can use.

I would like to see the closure of administrative line crossings to the east of Kosovo and a 25% reduction in the electricity Serbia sends to Kosovo

To Marko,

as for electicity is true that you do supply northern kosovo with electicity and i know for fact that nowone pays for it, but it all part of serbias manipulation of kosovo serbs, so they dont get integrated in kosovo institutions, as it was mentioned in the above posting yes we have our problems and progress is slow and painfull for all of us(that includes kosovo serbs too), but please if you can supportas just let us be and let us rebuild our lifes and I know that it will take time but believe me when i say this we will prevail regardles of all the obstacles along the way. I dont think that it is very fair all the pressure that is being put upon Kosovo serbs shoulders from serbian politicians, so that might be one of the reasons they will have to close the borders so for once Kosovo serbs will be able to actually decide for them selves.

"Dear all,

The Kosovo government is gradually implementing law, peace and order in the entire territory.

Although we are moving at a snail pace, this is in no way derailing our, short, mid, and long tern objectives.

The anarchy in North, South, East or West of the Republic of Kosova will be equally challenged.

The best Belgrade can do is to open an emmbasy in Prishtina to stay near its community here...as Minister/s for Kosovo staying in Belgrade office is/are more of Mickey Mouse ministries then anything real...I dont think anyone will dare to reasonably disagree with this...

Peace to all

Cheers

PRN,

I don't know what pace Pristina is moving south of the Ibar. But obviously it is NOT moving at all (not even at snail's pace) in the north. How could it when it cannot control that area under its own steam? Had been that way since 1999 and so even your snail's pace hypothesis amounts to nothing more than wishful thinking.

Serbia needs a government to react to this. The elections are over almost a month and the socialists need to make a decision. It is my hope that a government that can react to these provocations carefully is formed.

I would like to see the closure of administrative line crossings to the east of Kosovo and a 25% reduction in the electricity Serbia sends to Kosovo, this should shake things up in pristina suffeciently; they may hate us but they need us, and any poster who thinks that Kosovo can exist without the co-operation of its neighbours is confused.

Wim Roffel

Closure of the border would be the perfect illustration that the real goal of Kosovo's government is the cleansing of Kosovo's Serbs -as they are already trying by making trade with Serbia more and more difficult. It is clear that the Ahtisaari Plan doesn't work in these kind of circumstances.

A child can see that closing border crossings because of smuggling is nonsense. You have checks at the border to crossing to prevent smuggling.

agim

pre 15 godina

Only people that would be unhappy with the closure of the northen borders of Kosovo are the smuglers that are getting rich in the lawless north, even Serbs want some sort of law and order, besides everyone knows that the current situation can not be sustainable for much longer.
Serbs & Albanians of Kosovo should cut of all politicans and try to work together by looking to the future as like it or not they both have to live side by side, we can not let our children grow with hate for each other, I think we all agree that there has been enough of that!
peace to us all
