In your comments in 2) you seem to think that there were winners in the recent elections. I think you are mistaken. There were no winners, only losers and those were the Serbian people.

You also seem to believe that a more stable gov't will arise from the likes of a coalition of SRS/DSS/SPS. Yeah right, just like the Milosevic gov't was stable (for about 12 years) and then what happened!

Do you really wish this on Serbia? If you do then you are not nearly as clever as you would like people to believe!

As poor a choice Tadic and his DS would be for Serbia, this choice, I afraid to say, would be the best for Serbia and her people.

This old goat will do anything to hold onto his job, not long after Kosovo's UDI Old Man winter was waxing philisophic about how the loss of Kosovo may not matter in 20 years,

http://xs4.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2008&mm=03&dd=23&nav_id=48721

now thanks to the electoral process he may be unemployed in 20 days.

The best solution for Serbia would be for DS to start coalition talks with DSS.

DS only has to adopt a more responsible stance on preservation of territorial integrity!

What a climb down from Tadic's tall europhoric horse of only few weeks ago.
Now, hat in hand, he is begging the Milosevic's Socialists for their friendship after having built his political career out of relentlessly hostile attacks on them and their defunct founder.
Wouldn't be surprised if he now ends up offering Mirjana Markovic the post of the Vice-Presidency.

Meanwhile, let's enjoy the spectacle of contortions of our 'European Serbia'.

I believe the DS needs to take a back seat and watch the show that SRS/DSS/SPS will run for the next four years. In these next four years the SRS/DSS/SPS will achieve nothing at all and Serbia will be in a worst position than it is now. That being said when the new voting occurs people's eye's will be wide open and the DS will take more than 50% of the votes alone.
Biggest SRS/DSS promotions was the preservation of Kosova!
It will be recorded in history in the next four years that Kosova will enter UN and will be recognized by almost all countries around the world. In the meantime the SRS/DSS/SPS will be able to do nothing to stop it.

As far as I'm concerned, the writing really was on the wall from day one. An SRS/DSS/SPS coalition is the only natural partnership. Anything else is a forced marriage that is doomed to failure.

The DS had 8 years and it's now time to stop the sale of Serbia. Time to stop being subservient and time to stand up tall with our partners.

Some people won't like that and will do what they can to stop it but it's time to prove the scaremongers wrong and time to silence all those doomers and gloomers.

DS seem completely split within and amongst themselves let alone the clear splits beteween the 5 party list.

Here we have Dragoljub Mićunović suggesting "that the SPS had the chance to become a reformist socialist party with new people."

- one wonders what he means exatly by "new people" ???

While B92 also reports Živković as stating about SPS;
“some younger people who voted for the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) will realize that Europe is the future, and they will change sides.”

"Živković said that the SPS’s current position, where it was choosing which coalition to join, was the result of a coincidence as, according to him, they do not have the democratic capacity to help Serbia enter the EU any quicker. "
http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2008&mm=05&dd=29&nav_id=50629

- DS clearly have an internal issue that splits deeply and therefore would be quite an unstable partner for SPS if they did go with D yes to all that EU demands - at which point they would call elections within the year and as Živković hopes take their votes away from them - what a way to instill "coalition partnership"!!!

Clearly it is dawning on DS that they did not win at all - despite all teh chmapagne corks popping off and self congratulations on the night of voting! Moreover there is a panic and a clear divide forming amongst and within the party given taht is dawning on them taht they will not be in goverenment and a clear panic for them of teh worst case scenario that this government is more stable tehn any they have been party to and one that lasts longer then they wish. this could actually be the breaking point for DS with many closer to the Cedomites then they would wish to admit in public.
