Ana is just another self-hating liberal women who has bought into the multicultural, materialistic propaganda of the West.

As someone who is not ethnically connected to anyone but who reads and researches any situation knowing full well what is presented over various media outlets may not be the truth…you are talking total rubbish like a brainwashed sheep dictated to his stance by your thoughts which can’t be altered no matter how good the reasoning or logic may be of another view.

Where Ana is brainwashed into thinking there is a better way, a European way, admit our wrongs charged against them, even if false and people will treat us different, she is weak under desperation. The admitted wrong doings will ensure Serbia is bribed about its past at every opportunity when another country wishes to have its way over Serbia. Yes it is easy for me to say not having to go through what Serbs have had too, but I can make such an impartial comment.

2000 Dead under the age of 3? You mean the 2000 bodies found in total on all sides in the past decade of a civil conflict? (mostly armed fighters). P.S. women aren’t civilians when all are capable of holding arms which we have seen from various factions in other conflicts.

Also is it not ironic you spiel the same victimised rubbish the media feeds us here regarding victims, never reporting the crimes committed against Serbs in the surrounding areas of Srebrenica prior to the reaction? Or that an army was using a UN safe zone to commit these crimes? And you safely say who is wrong and who is not and where all the guilt lies? Leaders use their follows as pawns, sacrificed for a greater good.

"Ana,

It is self-hating Serbs like you that make me ill. Why don't you read the facts, not anti-Serb propoganda. If you did, you would realize that Serbs have never been aggressors, were not in the 90's, and are the victims, yes VICTIMS, of the wars. When you get ethnically cleansed from Croatia, parts of Bosnia, and Kosovo (with the help of your EU friends and the Americans) and then the other side accuses you of being Nazis - well any normal human being will stand up for truth and justice.

Wow, "when two people say that you are drunk , then hold to the wall", and in your case, the whole world agreed to bomb you, because you did not understand other language, not because you were "VICTIMS", victims, haven't destroy Vukovar, victims, havent killed more then 3000 people in Srebrenica, victims havent killed, more then 2000 children under age of 3 in Kosova, those were the same serbs that respected Ana is talking about. However, it is your state and do what ever you want, and I just feel bad for the pople like Ana who really do not deserve your roten ideologie.

@ ana

so you are not leaving? what a luck for serbia ...

maybe it´s because you are too young, or maybe it´s because you lived that long in the west and had no access to (propaganda-)free media, so i´m going to explain you: serbias bad position is only due to our selfproclaimed western partners and friends.

and because of people like you/ds voters, serbia is still in a bad situation, with ds focusing on getting us-colony within eu instead of tackling real problems!

we all should be happy that figures like you and ds-hooligans don´t burn the skupstina anymore, but also a ds-voter has to realize that a democratically elected majority isn´t "a handfull of people"!

or maybe your trouble with mathematics is also due to the bad sps???

btw. do you think it will be hard to outperform ds in belgrade? 10 years ruling brought us old & beged busses from all over the world and the nearly reconstruction of one bridge!

wow, that´s gonna be hard to topple ....

I have to congratulate ZK UK for deciding to move to Belgrade. I am far too greedy and lazy (since I was born in the Unified State of Amnesia) to do that myself. I was thinking of moving to Serbia when and if I reach my retirement age. The thought of spending my american social security and retirement savings on the Serbian economy looks appealing to me.

Pleased to hear that ZK, UK.
Been here 8 years myself and don't want to leave although I decided to live here because of my visits during Milosevic times but unfortunately settled during the Djindic regime. Those 2-3 years were really the dark ages .. like the American 30's, one mafia gang against another and the worst one ruling.

Enjoy reading your posts ..
Hope you enjoy the New Better Belgrade once this DSS/SRS/SPS coaltion starts functioning.

First of all, I do have the right to post here. I live in Belgrade and I am proud of my people. I don't like the fact of who is going to rule Belgrade in the following years and I am very ASHAMED of it and I have the right to be...

Regarding your bridge comment, I guess the bridges and everything else that the Radicals are going to build are going to be built with someones money...Tell me who has been giving money to Serbia? Your kind of people? Remember the 90's, those were your people...

If that is for you saving Serbia's interests no wonder you vote for the ones who don't even want to live in a street named by the late Djindjc and praise his assasin...

And by the way, why are you posting comments in the language of Serbias arch enemies? You should only use Serbian...

I feel bad for Belgrade, you Beogradjanini are in for a tough ride. Hopefully, the SPS will be good izdajnici, save the rest of us from this fate and sign a national coalition agreement with the DS. If not, you could have a situation similar to the late 1990s when the capital and the national government were led by retrograde forces and progressive forces found strongholds in Nis, Pirot, and elsewhere. This time, though, the retrograde will have the capital, while us progressives will have control over the next three biggest cities--Novi Sad, Nis, and Kragujevac--and Vojvodina. In such a situation, I doubt very much that a "patriotic" national coalition could last much more than a year.

Lazar

pre 15 godina

Ana, you can not blame the sad horrific experience of the 1990s on the SRS and SPS. The reason why is because the state was under various international pressures. There simply is no justification of bombing our country or putting up sanctions which result in our hospitals not functioning. These external factors are the reason why that period was not good. We can notice that life in 1997 under the SPS was better than in other neighboring countries. Why don't you compare the country before the bombing to others like bosnia or bulgaria or romania. We were not bad off. We had a good system that cared for the people, but alas it was not as prone to foreign corporations, and that is why things did not work out as nice as we all hoped. But to blame us for the aggression of the west, such as the bombing, well that's just wrong.

Dragan

I suggest if you are ashamed you are from Belgrade that you start calling yourself a 'German', 'Belgian'...or whatever EU country you reside in.

Michael Blairsdale

Ana, Dragan is right, self hating people like you, are a countries one way ticket to becoming lost.

Do you not bother to read what policy was put into place in the 80’s by the American Government regarding Yugoslavia? Way before any ethnic tension broke out?

Or the constant funding and encouragement of various parties within Yugoslavia who would not of come to the fore otherwise? And probably would not have seen the violence we have had. Just because you feel the world is against you does not mean you should wipe clean the past and pretend to be some sort of ‘new Serbian’ and forgot where she comes from.

They could not prove anything against Milosevic, even in a biased court and all you need to do is read the defence testimonies of those who were defence witnesses, many were diplomats and some ex NATO, UN generals to realise a different perspective.

Milosevic was to good, laugh if you will but if he was evil, Croatians, Albanians etc would have been annihilated before anyone could preserve them, he was a failed communist with more concern of keeping Yugoslavia together. A poor leader but nothing like a butcher of any region.

I am a person who is naturally against the EU, it does not care for individual countries. It seeks its own future and will turn more and more into a soft/hard socialist union. Why not see what type of movements are occurring more and more within the EU? Nationalist movements, some decent right wing some scary fascists but you see, the EU erodes national identity and causes fear. Any nationalistic country is an enemy of the EU.

Maybe you are not a Serb Ana, maybe you just want to be a bland European? Nothing else.

One final warning, the GDP of the new EU countries is false and misleading indication of what will happen to Serbia. It is driven by typical government spending which counts to GDP and also the countries deficit. Any country which is not of the level of the main EU countries will find their economy hampered with tax, quotas and restrictions and you will not see this wonderful EU wealth.

Not every country needs to join the EU or is compatible.

to get into power with 1.000 promises, this is one thing. SRS is good in populistic wording, but when it comes to work with hands, then they fail - and Novi Sad is the best example in Serbia. now Belgrade will be the next "selfservice store" for SRS ranks.

Ana, Im very sorry that your fellow Serbs are treating you in such a terrible manner. If only all Serbs were like you then Serbia today would be swimming in prosperity and not be a "has been" country like it currently is ....

Ana,

It is self-hating Serbs like you that make me ill. Why don't you read the facts, not anti-Serb propoganda. If you did, you would realize that Serbs have never been aggressors, were not in the 90's, and are the victims, yes VICTIMS, of the wars. When you get ethnically cleansed from Croatia, parts of Bosnia, and Kosovo (with the help of your EU friends and the Americans) and then the other side accuses you of being Nazis - well any normal human being will stand up for truth and justice.
People like you, and there are lots of you around, blame your own people for trying to defend what is theirs.
I suggest if you are ashamed you are from Belgrade that you start calling yourself a 'German', 'Belgian'...or whatever EU country you reside in.

This is great news for Belgrade. It is a very representative local government.

Congratulations to all of the parties in this coalition. I will be moving to Belgrade in August and will do so proudly.

Congratulations for new Belgrade coalition. Do the same on national level! Do not hesitate.

Read what your potential pro- European partners are saying. You are good if you go with them but you are bad if you go with Radicals and DSS-NS.

ana you are WRONG! Let's be real here and tell the readers the truth. It was AMERICAN anti-Serb policies that created so many problems for Serbia/Serbs.

You really call those 8 years "democracy?" Give me a break ana! your ds couldn't even start, let alone finish the job, of that infamous bridge in BG - which they have been promising during their entire term in office.

Ana, by your logic I assume you will be leaving Serbia shortly as it is ruled by a government for which you are ashamed. It's a good thing you have an EU passport.

The idea of nationalists and socialists taking over a country in Europe in this day and age is unsettling!

I hope that Serbia does not end up like Belarus or Moldova did as an isolated, underdeveloped hole!

@ ana

so you are not leaving? what a luck for serbia ...

maybe it´s because you are too young, or maybe it´s because you lived that long in the west and had no access to (propaganda-)free media, so i´m going to explain you: serbias bad position is only due to our selfproclaimed western partners and friends.

and because of people like you/ds voters, serbia is still in a bad situation, with ds focusing on getting us-colony within eu instead of tackling real problems!

we all should be happy that figures like you and ds-hooligans don´t burn the skupstina anymore, but also a ds-voter has to realize that a democratically elected majority isn´t "a handfull of people"!

or maybe your trouble with mathematics is also due to the bad sps???

btw. do you think it will be hard to outperform ds in belgrade? 10 years ruling brought us old & beged busses from all over the world and the nearly reconstruction of one bridge!

wow, that´s gonna be hard to topple ....

Albino

Ana is just another self-hating liberal women who has bought into the multicultural, materialistic propaganda of the West.

Chanel, Fendi, and Gucci mean more to her than Serbia ever will.
