Is Jeremić for real ???

Seriously, the only two countries from ex-Yu that are leading the region into the EU are Slovenia, followed by Croatia.

Sadly, Serbia is the furthest behind evey other country with EU ambitions.

Jeremić needs a reality check. He himself doesn't even know if Serbia will proceed further with its EU prospects considering the recent election results ....

At least Jeremic has the sense to admit that the ethnic cleansing in 1995 occurred. What concerns me is he is so quick to make overtures to Croatia in spight of their recognition of Kosovo. As for me, I will continue to teach my kids that the historic Krajina is Serbian land as a result. I will not reconcile so easily. This is shameful. Instead of sanctions against Croatia and severing of relations, we are appeasing them. Bring in the Radicals and "nationalists" please and put our current self- loathing government out of its misery.

With all it's fundamental flaws, nothing better than E.U. was invented yet. Wish it would. Being part of E.U. and belonging to the Kazakhstan-Russia-Belarus Trade Union and/or being member of Shanghai Military Agreement does not mutually exclude each other. It requires a good level of diplomacy to pull such things off. Maybe I am wrong, but Mr. Jeremic has the ability to do it, he is one of the brightest politicians in the region.

Virginia,

On many international forums Serbia and Crna Gora act as the same. For instance, Crna Gora does not have consulates in most countries. That means, a Crna Gora visa is issued by Serbian consulate.

An other interesting fact: if you are traveling by train, there is no border control between Serbia and Crna Gora.

It somewhat resembles the relationship between Russia and Belarus (normally no border control either).

If you look up the web site of USA post service, www.usps.com you will see, Serbia and Crna Gora count as a same country.

Even more: SRJ is obviously a part of Adriatic-Ionian Initiative. So is the official successor of it, Serbia-Montenegro. So is the official successor of Serbia-Montenegro (Serbia).

I don't see any harm being done.

No one "invited" any country to the meeting: everyone who came to the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative is a MEMBER. No one got "an invite" from Croatia. That's like saying France invites Italy to an EU meeting in Paris.

On another point, I would like to question why on earth Serbia is a part of the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative when they have absolutely no waters. Does the Danube count in this case?

Serbia in Adriatic-Ionian Initiative?!!!!
What in the world Croatia invites Serbian in this Initiative. Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece and Italy are the region countries.
This is done to celebrate the Croatia's lawsuit against Serbia for genocide.
Bravo Croatia. Very diplomatic move.

Jeremić added that those were “dark times that must never happen again.“-

Well more dark times are due...The day Serbia gets caught in the EU trap!!
