What amuses me about the whole Kosovo situation is that Albanians think that the US and the EU have awarded them with something by supporting their pursuit of independence. Both the EU and the US will always impose the rule of law for all sides involved. US and EU military bases will be built and national laws will be based on EU and US directives, not on what Albanians, or Serbs for that matter, feel is right for Kosovo. Just look at Ireland. They have never allowed abortions in Ireland, but now they are being pressured by the EU to change this law, and believe me it will change. Kosovo is just another example of a weak eastern european territory that will be taken advantage of as the US and the EU build an eastern front to increase military and economic presence on Russia's doorstep, especially with Russia's recent growth in the global economic and political arenas.

Although there will be some difficulty on the ground in the Kosovo province because of the current situation where the province is under “occupation” by Mr. Bush’s empire army. however Serbia should continue to exercise it’s right as it is guaranteed by international law.

The reality of pandora' box being opened following the illegal action by the ethnic-Albanians seems to be sinking in given all the comments above but then they can carry on believing in thier puppet master and false promises which is now becoming clear even to them that such false promises will never be!!!

Mr. Ivanko, according to Res 1244 UDI was an illegal act also. What do you intend to do about that?

How can you cooperate with Pristina when they have not been recognized by the very institution you pretend to speak for and then say you will not cooperate with the Serbs who still have a legal claim to that territory?

Before you end up with egg on your face, do check the law book one more time.

Certain Serbian politicians continue to be in state of denial in relation to Kosovo. They can say what they want, but the fact on the ground is that all of Kosovo is controlled by pro-Western armed forces, there will not be a kind of “Republika Srspka in Kosovo and Metohija”.

When Croatia and Bosnia declared independence, Serbia has command of most of the armed forces, but now in Kosovo, Belgrade can just command gunless demonstrators. And Boris Tadic will never sacrify Serbia’s possibility to enter EU by sending troops to “protect Serbs” as it happened in the 90’s.

The games is over. Kosovo is independent, and Serbia can’t do anything about this.

You cant help them, their byond you're jurisdiction. You should leave this up to the foreign ministry since Kosovo is independent from Serbia and independent.. I mean it has no say in what goes around.

There have been some real issues over the past century with Serbian politics, primarily the lack of nationalism compared to other states from the former Yugoslavia. I will go on a tangent here because everyone discusses the nationalistic approach to Serbian politics and how all this Kosovo talk is linked to a greater Serbia. It is because of nationalism that Croatia, Slovenia, and Kosovo have been successful in creating their own countries. I'm tired of hearing about 'nationalism' and it's links to Serbian traitors like Mr. Milosevic. How can anyone think that he cared about anything but himself after cyphening off billions to his own personal bank accounts. He was also a true Communist from the cold war era. Nationalism has been linked to Serbia for two reasons. Reason number one is that Serbs have never been successful in coming together as a nation to promote it's own common interests like others have. The millions that have been dished out to Washington lobby groups by Albanians and Croatians in order for Western publications to favor their respective views is staggering. The second reason is that Serbia is and always will be viewed by the West as a true ally of Russia and the 'communophobia' continues so many years after the cold war ended. Keep these points in mind next time you link Serbia and its politicians to 'nationalism'. At a time when we should all be working together to prevent Islamist fundamenatlism from truly taking control in all of Europe, we continue to bicker over who deserves Kosovo while islamists continue to train terrorists in the mountains of Bosnia and Albania to execute more missions in Western Europe and eventually again in the US. Open your eyes people. Let's focus on the real issues that will affect generations of Europeans to come.

Mr Ivanko knows R1244 better then you and your teacher, who are you to question him?

They gave Serbs a chance on local elections Nov 17th, however they ignored it, now they (UNMIK) ignore you, ironic isnt it?

Apart from financial arrangements, does anyone from the Serb side have another long-term plan here? Paying people to carry on fictitious jobs is hardly the solution. Local government is intrinsically linked to the notion of central government. The link is functional rather than symbolic. A government cannot sustain a local involvement in a different jurisdiction for a variety of reasons, practicality being the most important of these. How can you invest in infrastructure lets say for the sake of argument in Gracenica, without addressing the bigger networking problems?
Belgrade is entitled to work in many levels with decentralised local government of Serb inhabited areas, education and health being primary examples, but it seems that certain people in BG are not interested in having a safe and prosperous environment for their people. It is also apparent that BG cannot have a direct impact in what is happening in these areas. People like moustache man are more interested in creating illusions of control. Parallel structures serve only the symbolism of things but symbolism is now a currency highly devalued even in our par of the world.

B92: "[...]Serb officers left the KPS in protest, with Belgrade promising to pay their wages, a promise it has yet to keep."
B92: "He (Samardzic)also spoke with representatives of the suspended Serb KPS officers, [...] and have not yet received the financial assistance they were promised."

I do not remember a single promise that has been kept by serb politician since 1987, as well as almost every promise based on nationalistic ideas in recent history, has led into desasters. Greater Serbia seems unlikely to me. You also can consider as a fact that life in Serbia has not improved for decades. To draw the conclusion that there is conspiracy against Serbia won´t be helpful. An other conclusion would be to change course in a policy toward non-destructivity. Of course Serbia is strong enough to stragle almost every progress in Kosovo, however it will not help serb population.

I hope Mr. Samarzhic will keep his word and tunr this phantasy in reality, but I do not see how this so called Mayor of Peja will exercise his duty. Ops, I forgat just like his BOSS Mr. Samarzhic from Belgrade office with no impact what so ever in Kosova . This is what I call living in la la la Land.

I think Mr. Samardzic would make better career and money if switches to writing scripts for comical movies.

He really impresses me...:)

I think Hollywood would offer him tempting conditions...as comical movies with Balkan touch are on demand now

Peace to all
