KV, Who are the big boys?

Who is bigger than UN?

If you want the big boys to take over from UN then please let us know who that is. If you're talking about the US you are mistaken. The US went outside the UN and got a group of merry men to follow the into Iraq but that's not going to be allowed in Europe.

Wishing for a pie in the sky is silly.

EA,
Kosovo is first and foremost in Serbia and a Serbian issue as such, then a European, but currently the only legal authority is UN and will probably remain so for the foreseeable future until Serbia is ready to govern it again.

"Umnik should hand over power smoothly to the Kosova government and not put themselves in an embarrising position. Kosova is in Europe and it is mainly an European issue. Its prospect is in EU and that is the REALISTIC approach.

Well EA, all I can say is happy wishful thinking on your part. But it is not going to happen, at least not north of the Ibar.

UNMIK is not even going to relinquish itself officially to EULEX much less to Pristina. Not unless Ban Ki Moon wants to be ousted by Moscow and Beijing.

In fact come June 15th, it will be EULEX, not Pristina that will be calling the shots in south Kosovo. And expect EULEX to do just that for a long, long time to come. That is the reality on the ground however "independent" the K-Albanians like to believe themselves to be.

As for the north, do expect EULEX to officially claim to administer that part too, but everyone will know the reality there -- the northern K-Serbs will be running their own show in cooperation with Belgrade. But they will probably allow EULEX to publicly presume control there too so that it doesn't have to lose face before the whole world. But the price for this face saving arrangement would be for EULEX not to molest the northern K-Serbs. To cut a long story short -- de facto partition.

Hey EA!! I think it is the other way around. it would be ashamed for the UNMIK if they handover to EULEX WITHOUT an approval from the UN most notably the UNSC since 1244 is still exist. even Ban Ki Moon cannot reconfigure the UNMIK without floor discussions & voting by UNSC members and the 5 permanent members.
