The SPS-PUPS-JS coalition agreement dictates that PUPS and JS can't take their mandates with them, all 20 seats stay in one bloc. That's the point. Palma's not just mouthing off. This is part of the SPS's PR strategy to justify going with the DS.

This is why there should only be 3 political parties in Serbia (left, center, right) because everyone (like this clown) thinks they can run the country better. Now we have 30+ parties in the country of which 90% are only taking in 1% votes that could go for a party that has a chance to govern.

I find it laughable that the pro democratic - european forces are courting this renegade. Try googling this guy and you find a reactionary homophobe. a trade unionist yes, but a very right wing one. My word! surely Tadic who is straining sinews to be accepted by the West cannot accept this character as a honourable figure of democratic change. Serbia is in danger of subverting democracy and becoming a laughing stock.

For future reference, Ivica, you might want to make sure your supporting parties agree with you on the fundamentals BEFORE the election. That will save us all a great deal of hassle.

This is ludicrous. The entire election was about whether to support the signed SAA or not, and still the SPS coalition wasn't able to make up its mind. Now isn't the time.

I believe it is over for the DSS-SRS coalition. The SPS will join their "traitor" brothers, the DS, and this will be the begining of the end. Kostunica made a huge error to call elections when he had a "sure thing" by switching sides and joining the SRS. It was too crucial for the Serbian nation to play righteous. I deplore the Serb politicians, they are sellouts and as history has it, we are the authors of our own demise. A thug like Palma holds the nation hostage. He could not care less about Kosovo or anything else that is Serbian. By the way, where did he ever get the money to own a TV station? Even if the SPS were to join the DSS-SRS, I would not even consider this thug for a cabinet position. Is it possible to split the 20 seats that the SPS has, Could they go their own seperate ways? Or, is it that the majority of that coalition dictates with whom to form a partnership?

This is just part of the choreography that the SPS coalition has planned to justify joining forces with the "anti-Serbian" (to use the laughable implied epithet used by some regular contributors to this post) DS coalition. Ultimately, the SPS coalition will refuse to join the SRS-DSS coalition unless the two parties agree to endorse the SAA in parliament, which SPS knows they won't do. The ZES-SPS coalition will be announced shortly afterwards.

a little birdie tells me that coalitions made before elections are owners of mandates, not parties. in post election coalition it’s the opposite.
so i guess the thing

At the end of the day, this guy will have a choice to either be in the government or out of it.

There is no other option and he will have to make that decision.

However, the choice is pretty clear.

don´t worry, Nick.

he IS a nobody actually, it´s not a secret that he is a mercenary...

and, he will be forgotten very soon, I guess.

they are desperately trying to turn their loss into a victory, like they had already declared it on the day of the vote...

Could you imagine? Prior to the elections nobody has ever heard of this guy Palma. Now he is calling the shots. People around here say that Kostunica should not hold a high office due to the representation percentage of the DSS, what about Palma? This guy is a total nobody and he is making demands and holding the coarse of an entire nation is his hands. Unbelievable!!

I don't like him much, but this trojan played a fine game didn't he?

First his statement weeks ago with pro eu noises. Then his claims on tv that he was closer to SRS/DSS. Then he wobbles saying he didn't know but supported the SAA. Now, in the key moment he plays his hand.

Patriot Palma, Arkan's buddy!
