I hope a Sesejl blessed government is formed and stays in power for at least 4 years. It would be of great advantage for us Albanians if there is government in Serbia of the same caliber as the Hamas government and with types such as Ahmadinajad (aka Kostunica and Nikolic) leading Serbia.

" 108 plus 125 is still one seat short of forming an goverment"

Obviously meant to say 108 seats plus 17 seats from the socialist who we can assume are anti SAA.

Richard Z

pre 15 godina

" The SRS & DSS alone have 108 seats, according to my primitive calculations 108 is greater than 102"

And 102 plus 12 from the LDP makes 114, 114 is more then 108, and so on.

No-one can claim victory, and it's by no means sure who will form the next goverment. It depends on the SPS and even that party is split with some officials from the coalition partners claiming they would support the SAA signing.

If you really want to take a look if the people suported the SAA or not you only have to look at two parties the Tadic's DS and Kostunica's DSS.

The radicals always have a stable following, but even they have lost this time. Granted the lost is neglectable, but still. SAA signing or not the Radicals can always count on around 80 seats in the parlement. Ofcourse their following are against the SAA signing, and their votes count, but if you want to know wheter people agreed with Tadic or Kostunica, you can only look at the DS and DSS

As said not all of the SPS is against the E.U. and the SAA, and it's unclear if their followers voted for them because they are against the SAA or pro. Most likely they think about their pensions and not the E.U. Let's say that the majority of the SPS is against the SAA, you still would have to take at least 3 if not 4 seats from their results, because we know Palma is in favour of the signing of the SAA. So that makes 17 anti E.U. votes for the socialist not 20. 108 plus 125 is still one seat short of forming an goverment.

Tadic would have a hard time forming a goverment also,
but it's clear that he has more suport then Kostunica.
Kostunica's DSS has lost election after election.
The DS has 102 seats, the DSS has 30. Now tell me who has the most votes, who did the majority of the people suport Kostunica or Tadic. Tadic can be the only answer...

That is for SPS to decide.

But yes in the end you are right. We will get the government we deserve.

Tadic's claim to 'victory' shouldn't be taken only as stupidity. It might also be a threat that he may call on his Big Brother if the Serbs deny him his right to stay in power.
Street disorders, Ceda Jovanovic promised us (in case the DSS-NS-SPS-SRS government is formed) would perhaps just fit in nicely.
The SRS leaders who went to Hague to consult Seselj should be congratulated for rejecting the intimidation of our Sorosian media.
Things are finally looking good for our tortured Serbia.
No fear! Ours is not to live on our knees!

bganon,

If the SPS is the decider, then it is further proof that the Serbia electorate has rejected the DS and what it stands for.

Of course, an SRS lead government is dream come true for all of Serbia's detractors. I will be the first to admit that. This kind of government would start right of the bet with very little credibility. But, bear in mind that the Serbian people made this choice. This selection was not imposed by Albanians, U.S or E.U.

Perhaps Serbs don't deserve anything better then a government lead by Sesels' buddies.

You got to admit that the DS lead coalition lost the election barley.

'Great! The next government of Serbia will have Seselj's blessing! That will really get them off to a good start. I wonder how comfortable Kostunica is with having the patronage of a war criminal.'

Martin that was one of the topics spoken about on Utisak Nedelje this evening between Obradovic SPS, Samardzic DSS and Djilas DS. Some very interesting points raised and worth a read of the transcript when it appears on the Serbian part of this site.

Tadic indeed had lost all his credibility, at last let's hope Tadic & co. are finished for good. He has turned his back to the Russians, yet they are the only true allies of Serbia, such a shame and slap in the face to Putin.

A SRS-DSS-SPS coalition govt is the only sane and sensible option for Serbia today...!

DSS and others will try their utmost, with the help of western money and influence, to topple it...
Those EU countries that have recognized the UDI will try sanctions etc.

This govt. may face initial setbacks, but if Serbians are willing to fight and rebuild, who can stop them...?

I can see why you say that BalkanUpdate (because you think it will be good for an independent Kosovo) but I don't agree with your analysis.

As some have been at pains to point out the coalition that won will be decided by SPS. Whether forces supporting EU or those against it is a matter of debate too.

Even in SRS some claim to support EU integration. However, the patriotic block want to halt EU integration until Kosovo is returned to Serbia. If presumably that never happens, it means that Serbian will never be part of the EU.

Still, I would prefer Nikolic as Prime Minister (on a legitimacy and democratic level) rather than another term with Kostunica.

Tadic and his "yellow" partners need to go back and learn basic math. How is it that they won the most votes? The SRS & DSS alone have 108 seats, according to my primitive calculations 108 is greater than 102. So much for the Europe or hell coalition being intellectually superior or better educated than all us low brow Nationalists. At least we can do basic math & tell the truth. The SPS has nothing in common with the DS block and should rightly & quickly form the new government to represent the will of the Serbian people.

Serbs voted for Šešels coalition. Let them have it! This was a close election, but the anti European coalition gathered around Šešel won. This whole notion that the Pro-European block won is the biggest propaganda I have ever seen. Tadic’s “victory tour” was a huge error and he will be ridiculed for it forever. He has last all of his credibility. If you cannot beat a party lead by a man who is sitting in prison for war crimes, then you need to give up.

Marko,

Milosevic was removed with American money. And if SRS/DSS/SPS form a new government in Serbia, you can be sure that the Yanks will pour millions into undermining that government. This is the reality, but I trust the Serbian people and respect their decisions.

Due to my efforts and others, the Serbs are now looked at differently in Ireland by many people. Looked at with new eyes. Not murdering bastards but a people with a huge cultural, literary and religious heritage. Our countries are meeting in a football match next Saturday in Dublin. I will be at the game.

The Yanks and the EU will try to shape the Serbs into their own image. They will fail. God bless Serbia.

Indeed Marko, the Tadic "government" is backed and payed for by the western aggressors but, as it seems, not to be delivered. Hence Tadic desperatness and undemocratic comments.

A free Serbia with Kustunica and the radicals are the will of the people and not the "money men".

They should do what western countries and Russia has done to prevent future "Tadicés" and make the western/Soros bought organs like B92 and the "Otpor´s" of this country register as as Agents of Foreign Powers, THAT is true democracy, people shold talk, not money.

If this coalition is formed, it will be a coalition formed without western money and backing.

The DS et al have received large amounts of support and money from foreign interests, and it is perfectly legal under the current system.

I am hopeful that this government enacts legislation, that is inline with other western nations, that will prevent political parties from accepting money from anonymous doners, foreign governments and others who's will it is to decide the Serbian elections with foreign intervention and money.
