The American government rightfully persecutes terror around the world by any means necessary, but when countries like Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, or Israel do such things, we are there to tell them to "negotiate, give up land for peace" etc.

I've posted here for quite sometime and I remain a US Soldier who was deployed with KFOR for two years. American foreign policy truly needs to be equally applied.

montenegro independance was gained with the vote of the albanian minority who make the difference at the right moment by voting en masse...
Podgorica gvt take it for granted that albanians will never support the pro serbian lines in montenegro,so they do not bother for albanians and kosovo, whose money is welcomed during holidays....
But if albanians change their mind in this "blind" support and accept to join pro serbians for a while, montenegrins stability is not guaranted....

What would Njegos say?

Kosovo is very important culturally to the Montenegrins as well. Our tiny nation fought for centuries to free Kosovo from the Turkish yoke and to keep that dream alive in the hearts of Serbian everywhere through our epic poetry and song.

ZK,

That’s OK, we’ll trade those parts of Montenegro for half of Belgrade.

Joking aside…

That map is a result of outside influence trying to drive a wedge between Serbs and Montenegrins by forcing us to declare ourselves as Serbs OR Montenegrins but not BOTH as we have traditionally viewed ourselves.

How many of those “Serbs” have clans? How many of those “Montenegrins” belong to the Serbian Orthodox Church?

This policy of dividing the Montenegrin people will only result in the continued rapid diminishing of our people as a race. How many in Serbia, Bosnia and Montenegro have we “lost” already?

I fear for the future of my people.

It's ridiculous that you people believe just because a country recognizes Kosova's legal, 1244 enabled, Ahtisaari Plan outlined declaration of independence, it was done because that country was "forced" by the United States. Wake up people!

Firstly, Montenegro speaks the language of money. Secondly, the United States said they won't apply on Montenegro, and Montenegrin PM Milo Djukanovic said himself he is not being pressured, nor will he allow pressure to be applied to Montenegro, but it will make its own decision. Serbia and the Serbs in Montenegro are the biggest factors of instability for Montenegro, which WANTS to recognize but has to do so strategically to prevent rioting from the Serbs, which THREATENED the government to "recognize if you DARE."

That is not rationality, that is a threat from a propaganda-inspired group of people with nothing better to do with their lives. It is in Montenegro's best interests to recognize Kosova; together the two countries can work on joint agreements and other projects to bring stability in the region.

Another thing everyone here should keep in mind: Montenegro has announced that it will be accepting the new Kosovar passports for all citizens from Kosova wishing to enter Montenegro for vacation, as they do every year in the Albanian population areas, namely Ulcinj. Montenegro speaks the language of money; if they accept the validity of Kosova's new passports, that's a de facto recognition of the new state too. It's only a matter of time before they officially recognize Kosova.

If this isnt blatant US pressure and bully boy tactics excerted on Crna Gora to recognise its illegal puppet entity, I dont know what is. Its a sad reflection on US Foreign Policy when they feel the need to coerce small states into following its diktat.

The reason Podgorica is holding off on recognising Pristina UDD is quite obvious.

Milan

It would be suicide for Montenegro to recognise Kosovo. It is significant of how the US and its subordinates are desperate for this to happen. I can just read the headlines
Marshall Islands, Burkino Faso, San Marino and now Montenegro and the Maldives tomorrow.

Yeah, this is a multiethnic state isn't it, and with much more less number of population, they dont want to have any ties with SErbia, and I am asking you why is that ?

Montenegro is a sovereign country an can decide on its own what it will do. I don`t think they need any american OR serbian pressure.

We don't want to put any pressure on Montenegro but we want to remind them that 70% of EU already has recognized Kosovo.

What is that supposed to mean? If you don't do as the majority has done you will be seen as a trouble maker and be in the same bin as the other trouble makers.

If that's not putting pressure on a small country then I don't know what is.

Now that Montenegro is all grown up and independet it has to act as an adult and make some very hard decisions. It all comes with wanting independence and getting it.

Montenegro you have a hard decision to make. Do you turn on your own family to satisfy your new found friends or do you stick with your family?

I think, Montenegro will not be the last state in Europe which will recognises the independence of Kosovo. Czech Republic will be much faster, of course.

If Montenegro ever did, at least Serbia will finally have access to the Adriatic sea.

As for holding prisoners for an excessive time, how about Guantanamo Bay? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guantanamo_Bay_detention_camp

Anyway, I am very doubtful Montenegro will recognise NATO's occupation. It will risk its own integrity.

The U.S. should stop their presure on states like Montenegro. Let Podgorica make up it's own mind without the blackmail of Washington. Bush has done enough harm in the world already. Something most people except ofcourse the Albians can agree on.

I believe that Montenegro will soon recognize Kosova's independence. It is in their national interests to do so.

As far as the Albanian political prisoners are concerned, Montenegro has not released any proof to back up their accusations of "terrorism." Those Albanians are Catholics that have nothing to do with terrorism or Al-Qaida as some Montenegrins claim. And to top it off, 3 of them are American citizens, which entered Montenegro to attend a relative's funeral. These arrests the day before a Parliamentary vote where Albanians were expected to be voted into Parliament was clearly a move by the Montenegrin government to intimidate and politically stifle the voice of the indigenous Albanian population.

so, ...Mr.Moore is expressing hopes, ..while mentioning some dubious "torture"-case...

if that is not a certain kind of a hint, then...my name is Donald Duck. =)

what´s best: the argumentation ...: because 70 % of the EU have "recognized" the puppet-entity, now Montenegro should do it too? wow, impressive logics!

I am very pleased to see that the US are forced to put pressure on little pacific islands and other mini-republics in order to get a "wave" of "recognitions"...

hope dies last, as they say.

looking on the poeple of albanian ethnicity getting new serbian documents every day in Nis, I am quite interested, for how long those criminals in Pristina will be capable of holding the K-albanians as hostages of that illusion...

anyway,
Serbia will prevail, there is absolutely no doubt, and Kosovo is a part of it...
