Update to my previous comment:

To be fair and balanced: Serbs are on the same list... they need visa for Romania, however it is free of charge starting with July 2007.

Well, Funcakes,

don't take the EU billboards literally, you are already in Europe, why to go somewhere else :)

I don't know for Spaniards, but as Romanian I see no problem: if the big issue of Kosovo UDI recognition was left to each EU country to decide how to deal with, I think the same will happen with the visa issue. Passports recognition will be no problem, since in similar cases - Taiwan and Palestinian National Authority citizens - are able to enter Romania after obtaining a visa.
By the way, there is a full list of countries (http://www.mae.ro/poze_editare/2008.04.08_Annex1_en.pdf) who need visa for Romania, so Kosovars should be OK with this... After all, we Romanians, we still need visa for USA. Kosovars, the same :)

Notabene: the EU campaign says "Let's go to Europe!", not "Let's go to Europe without visa!", right?

Where is Spain and Romania to block this initiative from EU?

Hmm, I guess their recognition is coming up, otherwise why would they allow EU promotion in a country that can't get in without their approval? :)

That's the kind of political math you need to work out my dear Serb friends. EU is moving forward in Kosovo, despite some countries refusing to recognize it.

Someone do me a favour... after this eu mission to Kosovo is done explaining what the eu is all about, have them come over to the UK and explain to me. From what I know already the eu is the biggest load of codswallop going, wasteful of money and a level of governance not required by any nation state!

With the dire situation on the ground in Kosovo much better would be to spend that money on real problems faced by the most endangered people in Kosovo - at the time being this is the Roma and Serbs.

Perhaps the EU could reduce the salaries of some of its workers to help pay for this type of initiative.

Yes, this is exactly what the people need; they don't need secure transport of medical goods, electricty, jobs, sound housing, freedom of mobility, freedom from malicous prosecution etc, instead they need a Yankee- Go-home mobile that they can provide them with more pie in the sky; a bridge to europe and a wall to Serbia.

These people have suffered and they know better, it would have been better to spend the money on beer and popcorn

Kosovo is already in Europe! The European Union and the Western Media's continual use of the word "Europe" as a synonym for the European Union is arrogant as not all countries in Europe are memeber of the EU.

sounds like a call to 'come and join the travelling circus'

can't help but laugh at this desperation......

are they giving away free tickets too?

Oh I have very little doubt the "Let's Go to Europe" campaign will be unsuccessful. In fact, I'm so sure it will work, Albanians will literally pack their bags and "go" to Europe after June 15. If conditions in Kosovo remain economically stagnant and politically corrupt, half of Kosovo's population will look for the first plane, train, or bus, out.

The Great Exodus of 1690 will look like a trickle in comparison.
