After 3 wars England launched in Afghanistan the Afghans use “English” ( “ingliz”) instead af a word “bad”. They even spell wrong (“ingriz”). So if you are to swear at someone you ma say “this ingriz man” …
I think the Serbs too have enough rights to use this Afghan experience for Solana and say “this is a very Solana man” or “stop your solana deeds” ect. How dare this man even open his mouth in Serbian matters !
I can see only two reasons for the West being so anxious about how the things run in Serbia :
1. To stop Russia’s unexpected progress in most of the spheres.
2. To close the criminal page of what they started in 1999.
But the recent developments leave very little room for their optimism. I think at the next elections there will be much less supporters of the EU integration in Serbia at least in the format the SAA offers for them. Russia quite the opposite puts no terms and offers cooperation based on traditional brotherhood and modern pragmatism.

John,
excellent commentary. It is indeed ironic that those who use the Milosevic Boogieman one week, try to bring Milosevic's party into the contest the next.

Now the final count-down has started. The last solution for Serbia is the formation of a SRS-DSS-SPS coalition within 15th June. Otherwise: 1) an avalanche of recognitions of Kosovo's independence will come from countries all around Europe and the world; 2) EULEX will start regularly on 15 June, and 3)Russia itself shall give up the veto-right on Kosovo's issue. Because Serbia itself is in this period renouncing Kosovo with SAA's signing and election's results. But at the end the SAA itself will never be ratified by many EU member States (see Mladic case). So Serbia will lose all for nothing.
Time is speedly running and against Serbia.

P.S.: Lavrov has said: the signing of SAA was a good idea, if made before Februar 17th, but a wrong, when made after February 17th.

If I may toss my few cents on the table: DS and DSS should get together and review, one more time, those differences on interpretation how to “protect the territorial integrity” of the . After all, both are representative of the same people, the well being of the State and its citizens has to be the top priority. Both agree that the struggle for KiM has to continue, the difference is in the methods, approach and strategies. It can’t be that those differences are so irrevocable.
Get together, work hard and come up the solution.
How do you say it: Bre!, right?

Solana, a former Socialist himself, who sold himself to the highest bidders in NATO, is the archetypical traitor to his own beliefs. The fact that this man who illegally bombed Serbia and justified the premeditated killing of journalists at RTS is slavishly quoted by the "independent" media tells us all quite a bit about B92.

Yesterday we were told Serbs would be voting to stop a return to the "Milosevic era". Today, after the Tadichite gang lost the election and realized that despite their own lying spin they could never form a majority, they must now be happy to hear their new orders from Brussels!

Just as in Orwell's "Animal Farm" when overnight it changed from "two legs bad" to "two legs good" after the pigs wrote the new slogan on the barn, Solana has written the new logo for his henchmen in Serbia to recite: "SPS good for the EU".

Having met Dacic and many members of his party, I did not get the impression that they were for sale to such dirty merchants as Solana. I expect them to prove my impression right with a stern "Ne!" to Tadic.

Sincerely,

John Bosnitch

"Janša assured Tadić that he will "support the strivings of the Serbian leadership to continue reforms in order to fulfill European and bring Serbia closer to the EU"

- well helllo but isn't Serbia surrounded by the EU and thus well and truly in the midst of it already!!! Beyond that why does Slovenia act against Serbia's soverignty if was a true friend of Serbia???

As for the British Ambasador he should come back and tell PM Gordon Brown to help the needy who have just had an enourmous increase in taxes as a result of so called British Socialist Labour party. This is not an example to follow if SPS really want to help the needy!!!

Ironic too that PM Gordon Brown is blocking seccession of Scotland - a nation that has existed for centuries and has a distinct ethnicity and not a created geographic one while he acts illegally and against Serbia's sovereignity as recognised by the UN and in a UN SC resolution that teh UK formulated , ageed and signed as an obligation to uphold.

- alas oh what a tangled web we weave...

So Solana wants a strong government. But there is only one possible coalition for a strong government ant that is SPS/DSS/NS/SRS bloc and I suspect that is not exactly what Solana wants.

We have already seen what a DS-led government would lead to. Chech republic thinking of recognizing illegal declaration of independence. They would not think such thoughts if a truly strong government were formed.
