I am really quite suprised by Jovanovic and his LDP. I thought he was loath to form a colition with DS, let alone the SRS. Sleeping around will only get him a bad (worse) reputation...

But then again, why do I post regarding the LDP, they are non-entities, though favorites of the Quisling 'pro-west' press. I mean honestly, why do they get so much coverage when they are so insubstatial????

Sorry, silly question. Follow the money.

ZASTAVA SPORT S team for sale! with a pilot, who always jumps out the cabin(et) in critical situations; with a co-driver, who is called "king of the back-gear"; with a SPS (SPORT Supporter) on the backseat. all of them are almost perfect winners since decades!

Democracy is a government by the people for the people!
The people have spoken through the ballot box and now the RADICALS, sore losers as they are, (and the ones that dissolved the previous government believing that they could ride the Kosovo issue to secure a stronger position) now claim that "It’s not over yet". Well it’s not over for Serbia and for the majority of citizens that want democracy to prevail BUT is over for the RADICALS. They tried hard to use sensitive issues to lure the voters into their camp- it didn’t work, the honest TADIC not only supported Serbia’s vision for EU integration but risked everything by having the documents signed, his gamble paid off as it was obviously the wish of all educated and civilized citizens of Serbia.

BUT still the rhetoric over KOSOVO, it doesn’t really matter which party or coalition comes to power, the KOSOVO decision has the support of the Western powers and it’s an issue that will not be changed, you may have good reasons for disagreeing with me on this and I respect your position, BUT the reality in today’s world is otherwise, it’s a new world of political agendas and diplomacy, so when these events occur they will obviously leave one or the other side feeling cheated! That’s been the legacy of history and it’s not a new concept, the main issue here is that once everyone is in the EU there will be no borders to fight over, freedom of movement will overcome artificial borders. The newborn identity of the EUROPEANS will be much greater than the selfish and individual Balkans identities that have been designed around myths nationalism (by all sides). This will all change within the next 10 to 15 years and it’s a good idea for us to work towards developing an understanding and appreciation of each other’s rights and values NOW.

Cheers

When considering the options, there is only one possibility and that is an SRS/DSS/NS/SPS coalition (possibly with the Bosnians from Sandjak). Think about it, as nothing else will work and none of the minor parties are going to risk being left out so it will happen.

Now, the sooner this coalition is formed the better so all this deception from the EU and DS can finally stop.

This talk about a DS victory really is the last desperate attempt to deceive the people but thank god we will shortly have a government for Serbia and its citizens. Not one that will sell us out to the highest bidder.

Since the parties have very similar interests, it should take very quickly to form with Koštunica as the PM.

Is there any other choice or alternative...?

At stake is the future of Serbia, Kosovo and economic emancipation.

The DSS/SPS/Socialist combine, if it gets act together, are the only logical hope...

Otherwise welcome hypocritical EU and bye bye (of course in stages) Kosovo.

People are welcome to choose...!

For anyone states that Tadic is winner does not realise the talks he has to go to. He has fallen out with DSS, radicals are his rivals and the ones left the SPS are the party who had their leader sent by the DS to the Hague. All along the the SPS have said they are closest to DSS, its going to take one big bribe or compromise to get the SPS to join the DS, and lets not forget the SPS cannot work with LDP, Canak and to a lesser degree Draskovic. People forget that Kostunicas minority goverment was supported by the SPS and they have a good relationship. In addition, the JS with SPS Coaliton leader Predrag Markovic has said, the policy must be to join the EU with Kosovo, sounds like a DSS, SRS policy. Tadic has his work cut out.

I think it is tadic & co. who are the desperate ones. tadic has what, 3-4 parties in his coalition, while other parties are mainly representing themselves. Because if other parties join together to form coaltion government then tadic is gone for good!! It is time for a change for Serbia! No more corrupt sell-outs DS please!

What the SRS and DSS discuss is not really relevant. All rests of where the SPS shifts, or whether the SPS-PUPS-JS coalition splits between ZES and SRS + Co.

I bet SRS and DSS are annoyed that they forced an election now - if they'd formed a coalition before they could have managed a majority, now they cant get close together.

They bet - they lost.

In relation to the SRS/DSS talks, a DS spokesman said that "this move is a desperate last resort by those who lost out at the elections".

Whoever you support, this remark has to be seen as rubbish. All over the world the parties who form governments are not necessarily those who get the most votes.

For example, here in Ireland there are three main parties. The biggest one always gets 40-45% of the vote. The second biggest gets 30-35% while the third gets 10-15%. If the second and third parties achieve the upper end of their range they will coalesce and form a government, despite the first party gaining the most votes. This has happened many times here and similar things happen in many countries. It's all down to numbers.

The problem for Tadic is that he did well but not well enough. It is now simply a question of who can convince who to join them. If the DS coalition can do it, fine, but if DSS/SRS do it with another party or two, then Tadic and his people can have no complaints.

SRS and DSS can talk all they want, they can't form a government. They lost over 20 seats in the parliament, and DSS lost 200,000 voters from the last election, while all other major parties gained voters. What a devastating defeat for Kostunica and his policies. He should take heed of the voice of the voters and retire from politics.
