Tadic and the EU declaring victory at this point is insane! Congrats for not having enough votes for forming a majority government. Pass a few more crazy pills around boys.

I don’t know about Kosovo, but the majority of the region will be on the right track,“ he added -

These guys never let up, do they...?

Why are their 'filthy' opinions even cited on this website...?

They should be declared persona non-Grata in Serbia.

Tadic should think twice before celebrating too much. He can not form a government without one of either
* SPS
* DSS
* SRS
In the case of SPS he would also need LDP. It is absurd to think of a government with LDP together with Milosevics SPS. It is likewise absurd to see a coalition between Tadic and SPS. The only realistic outcomes are one of the following:
* DS+DSS+LDP
* DSS+SRS+SPS
The first alternative is also a bit absurd because DSS has Kosovo as it's most important issue while LDP want to give it away. This doesn't sound like a stable government to mee, which leaves only the last alternative as a viable solution. Even the last alternative probably wouldn't last very long, maybe a year. This election result was really bad for Serbia. Even a clear DS victory would have been better. A clear SRS/DSS victory would also have been better.

"SRS Govenment would be unsustainable"?
Of course, if it is a one- party one. But what about in coalition with DSS and SPS?
What would Boris do then? Would he call in Nato's tanks and bombardiers to help 'restore' our blessed Democracy?
When his euphoria settles down he will realize that the Serbian reality is somewhat different from what he imagines.
The 'fact' that over sixty percent of the Serbs (if true at all) are for entering the EU, hardly means these are his votes. He couldn't reach even 40% of the votes cast.

"please be so kind and exclude me from your propaganda speeches. there exists no "we "

- sorry did not realise you do not uphold Sovereignty and territorial integrity as a principle that needs to be guarded !!

I stand corrected all bar Rolerkoster in Serbia (if indeed you are in Serbia yourself) should stand by the principle of Territorial integrity and sovereignity and be proud of a government that upholds these as true and sacred - Kosvo is Sribija, Srbija is Kosovo, Srbija is and always be in Europe irespective of what Rollerkoster thinks or where I or s/he might currently be!!

"Tim Judah, a renowned British expert on the Balkans, has been following the elections in Belgrade, and has told B92 that the election results clearly show that the majority of Serbian citizens support EU integration. In his opinion, Serbia can justifiably expect a lot from the EU now"

Did he read the same election results I did?

Finally the end of Kostunica is here. He hopes he got away from being pinned down as the PM who officially lost Kosova, but people aren't stupid. Coming years will judge him as the most incapable PM in Serbia's history who achieved nothing. The future government will be a cleaner and better one without him and his likes. Let's not talk about that other, Ilic.

Nikolic didn't have any future either way but Kostunica could have played his cards better. The greed always turns one into a loser. Is expected the new government will tone down the rhetorics about Kosova, otherwise it will end up as the previoone us. Jeremic, if is to remain FM, should find new sentences in his speeches and orientate Serbia's foreign policy towards trust and reconciliation with Kosova.
Don't get me wrong, Nikolic would have been better and "faster" for Kosova but you know, a healthy neighbor (Serbia) is a healthy neighborhood.

Kosovo je srbija and always will be in Europe for ever so the parties of the new Government should stand proud to principles that we all guard true and sacred and do not be sold out! (Princip, UK, 12 May 2008 13:23)

please be so kind and exclude me from your propaganda speeches. there exists no "we all" and in particular it does not exist for someone who is not living in Serbia and who has never got a mandate for to speak for all Serbs, as you pretend. better you think about the fact, that SRS and DS-NS has lost 100.000s of votes - and the topic is here, if they could provide a sustainable government. you may say yes, but say it for yourself and not for all the Serbs, because you are not all of us.

Note the ditinction with which implies a slap in the face for Serbia's sovereingty;

"Serbia is a key country in the region, and if shes on the right track, Bosnia, Macedonia, and the rest of the region can do it too. I dont know about Kosovo, but the majority of the region will be on the right track, he added. "

- this is why the illegal EU portion acting against UN law wish DS to be in governemnt - it gives them an acceptance of the 'indecent proposal'! Tadic must be only too aware of this given Silvanovic's view above so stop with te words of deceit and either act or let others govern who would ensure no sell out!

Lets wait and see for the full results to be counted but one thing is more certain and that is Serbians only want to be part of the EU as a whole is the only majority view! All would like to be in the EU but not at that 'indecent proposal' price that some within the EU push and others in Serbia seem to pretend has not been asked!

I'll stick my neck out and state categorically that only an SRS-DS-NS-SPS-PUPS-JS stands for a Soverign Serbia. Others parties such as DS are clearly only happy to put words to it and pretend otherwise while getting on with pay-offs that will divide Serbian society in to an ever increasing divide of haves and have nots - look at the social inequality within western states to realise that the rich are only much much better off at the expense of the poor in this model of economic development!

Kosovo je srbija and always will be in Europe for ever so the parties of the new Government should stand proud to principles that we all guard true and sacred and do not be sold out!

for two months, all economical wheels in Serbia were stopped and this unfavorable situation may last several months, until a new government is ready to work. citizens of Serbia gonna have to pay for the economical desaster left by PM Kostunica with inflation and even with increased taxes. Kostunica did not care anymore for Serbia from the moment on, when he thought, the Gazprom deal is in his pocket - in the moment he blew off the government and his election campaign was more for the Russians than for the citizens of Serbia.
