I am sure that the Republic of Serbia will be able to hold fair and democratic elections (The West did not complain when Tadic won in February). Now that there is a real change that pro-Serbian/anti-EU parties will win suddenly all has changed and all kinds of communist time accusations and anti-Serbia rethoric are flying around from Brussels and Washington DC. I am sure that the Serbian voters know whom to vote for and realizing what may be the consequences (although in the end nobody but God can foresee the future). I would welcome Serbia to the EU if it comes to that, but once again be aware of the unexpected issues that may pop up. I think the most important thing is that despite the uncertainty Serbia and the Serbs will find a way to become united again and that the new government will represent all Serbs as much as possible and will stand for Serbia's interests. In The Netherlands the current government is completely alienated from the people and next time there will be elections a big shift to the right is very likely (not that they can resolve some urgent issues that many politicians do not dare to speak out let alone dare to tackle and solve). Serbia has always belonged to the European family and closer ties to Russia does not mean that Serbia has turned its back to Europe. Europe has turned its back to Serbia for too long and has to stop acting like a small child.
